No, he is out drinking away his sorrows-but are you guys going to the playoffs?

Or West Region like this:

1. UWW
2. Central
3. St. Norbert's
4. Bethel
5. SJU
6. West coast
7. West Coast
8. UW-EC
Now since Uww and UW-EC can't play each other, nor SJU and Bethel we have:

SJU at UWW; Uw-EC at Central and Bethel at St. Norbert's. Yikes!

My guess is that two West coast teams will play each other, and there is a chance that there will be three West coast teams (Whitworth plus whatever happens in the SCIAC).  If that is the case, they will set it up so as to minimize flights.  It is not a requirement that the committee avoid intra-conference matchups in the first round-- but they will try to avoid them.  However, when it comes down to the $$$, the avoiding may be minimized.

My very, very early bracket by means of games played:

8. Concordia (WI) at 1. UWW
4. Bethel at 3. St. Norbert's

6. St. John's at 2.  Central
7. Occidental at 5. Cal Lutheran

Surprise!  Whitworth moves to a different region!

SJU Champions 2003 NCAA D3, 1976 NCAA D3, 1965 NAIA, 1963 NAIA; SJU 2nd Place 2000 NCAA D3; SJU MIAC Champions 2018, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1971, 1965, 1963, 1962, 1953, 1938, 1936, 1935, 1932

Congratulations to Bethel.  I hope they can win a playoff game this year.  I hope SJU makes it and gets to play them again.  Brice and I were there at 10:30 and barely got a seat; there must have been at least 3,000 people there.

I'm sick of watching Koefed.  The offense has pretty much been inconsistent all season and SJU was lucky to get wins at Carleton and against STO when the offense sucks during those games.  It will be nice when a new QB takes control next year but the offensive line needs to ge a lot better too.  The SJU offense is very average to below average this year.  I don't know how quick I'll be to throw $300.00 at a ticket on a charter flight this year to watch more offensive ineptitude.  If we go to UW-W or St. Norbert or somewhere else in the region, that's one thing but I don't think I'll be flying out Whitworth or SoCal.  Once again, good job Bethel.  Shame on the pathetic mess charitably described as the SJU offense.

Actually since we're going to travel I would just as soon get UWW right away.  Might be able to jump on them cause we got something to prove after today's loss and losses to them the last 2 years.  If we could knock them off wouldn't we have a chance at a home game if anyone else was upset?

Esq-if it plays out like that seeding wise, I don't think SJU goes back to Central, two years in a row for the first round game. Still think that would be SJU at Norberts and Bethel at Central-because the NCAA will not stick Central.

As a first time poster on the MIAC board, I would just like to thank your conference for adding a crazy twist to the end of this season. Looking forward to seeing one of you guys in the first round.

Well, that sucked. I can't figure out what the offense was doing in the second half. It was plainly obvious that Jim had no confidence in Kofoed whatsoever. We even had a 2nd and 2, which is the perfect situation to take a shot down the field and he didn't do it. There was just no life at all from the Js. How disappointing.

Good game Bethel. Good grief, I hate typing that. I'm NOT looking forward to three more years of Flannery. Ugh. Good luck in the playoffs. May we meet again.
Nice day, huh?

Shoes I don't understand the strategy either.  Kofed had some bad throws but he also had a lot of medium length ones that were on target and caught, so not sure why we abandoned the pass.

Whatever the point of that strategy we came within one play of pulling it off.

Bethel was the best team we've faced this year so some of our failings were due to their success.  I think they will get one or two wins in the playoffs this year, if Flannery is OK.  He's smaller than I expected and looks like he's beat up pretty good.

Damn this was a tough one to lose and a tough way to lose it.

Shoes-what does that say about Kofoed, a 4 year starter, and the coaches have no confidence??
I didn't hear enough of the game, but people I spoke with were not impressed with Bethel, and yes, I know how that reflects on SJU. But based on their observations, I'm not sure Bethel gets that first win this year-but if they play Norberts, that will help.

I was thinking of you as I wrote that  :-*

Watching that unfold was just bizarre. I can't imagine that the Bethel D was shutting down the receivers. He just looked completely off his game. It didn't help that the Bethel O didn't get off the field and Kofoed was stuck on the sidelines the whole 2nd half. Bah.
Nice day, huh?

Ok-after reading more posts at the NWC, what if Witworth does not get in the playoffs? Do you just have one west coast team that flys into the midwest?

Wow. Wasn't able to listen today. Almost glad I couldn't.

Congrats to Bethel. Norbs might be a good chance for them to get off the payoff snide...  if it comes about.

It would be nice to watch the Selection Show tomorrow if it was somewhere other than ESPNU -- which has the market penetration just somewhat smaller than the TDT Sex Toy Shopping Network.

I think if you play that backwards you can hear Zip saying "I told you so" in devil talk.

During the third quarter when the defense could not get off the field, that was Jim's fault.

The D played pretty well today considering the injuries and all.  Did Bethel score in the 3rd quarter?  ???  Bethel scored exactly one touchdown on offense today, with 30 seconds left in the game.  The D got hung out to dry b/c the O could not sustain a drive in the second half.
