CLOSED CIRCUIT to Veek: It was decided on Saturday evening after 17 Miller Lites that the 1st annual JohnnieFootball.com Organizational Meetings will be held shortly after Christmas at your Mancave.  Please plan accordingly.  Thanks much,

The President

PS-If the event is successfully held at the Mancave on the River in the Falls, you would only then be required to attend the Upper Division course "How to watch all the Football Games you want each Fall".

TDT - Great post!  I even had to +k you for that one even though it almost killed me to do so.   Let me know when you are planning to meet in January so I can plan my vacation accordingly. :)

What time are you planning on arriving on Saturday and what hot beverages are you planning to bring?  I've got your cups and lids and I'll bring them with.  Just make sure your thermos is properly spiced!

Where is Ritz?  Has he recovered yet or is he still partying with Frank?

Zip - how many polish sausages are you planning to bring?

VOJ - what time on Saturday can you stop by to get one of Zip's famous polish sausages?  Let me know and I'll have one ready for you and the crew.  They are damn good.

As always, GO JOHNNIES!!!

Veek...this Saturday is going to be a little different for me because of some family obligations before the game...the best time would probably be shortly after 11am, but we will see.

.  Given the success the football team has had over the last two seasons, I would think that a request for stadium expansion funds would be well received.  I know I'd get the checkbook out for that, and an extended run in the playoffs would only help the cause and highlight the need for more seats.  The problem is that the current set-up is only made obviously under-sized when SJU comes to town, so some folks may not see the need for it.

Carl- Does Coach Johnson / the program stay in contact with former players? I would think a nice letter asking for a donation to be designated for the stadium improvement should easily get $100K from former players alone. Take that "base" amount and then find 5-10 deep pocket boosters & you have the improvements that you need.
I've gotten a letter every August before the season starts with a pass to the season's home games and a synopsis of the incoming recruiting class.  I still send an email to Coach J, Coach Miller, and Coach Peterson from time to time and always get a reply back even when they're busier with more important things.  I also receive a mailing from the Athletic Department from time to time.  Haven't received anything like a funds request for a stadium initiative yet.  I agree that the money would become available rapidly if requested, but whether other people think it's needed and how badly is the question.

Sounds harsh, but I doubt that changes will be made with only the travelling SJU hordes in mind.  Not that we don't look forward to your visits ;).  If there are also overflow crowds for the playoff games (FIGHT FIGHT WIN!), that will make the need for expansion more obvious.  The decorative horticulture idea is nice, but a set-up similar to what UWEC has would be the more likely solution with the cliff at the east end being the limiting factor.

Veek- I am bringing 40 Polish, same as for the UST game, but no smoked this time.

In order to help Pat and his playoff predictions, here is what SJU's blurb should read:

SJU will go as far as their QB can take them, if he is on, then the semi-finals are realistic, if not, a first round loss would not be stunning.

We may need to use this instead of charcoal at the Stiftungsfestivities to accommodate and make the Redlands fans and their families feel more at home this week.

Hopefully the Chief will be in attendance!  Any way of getting an invite to him personally?

ESQ-are you actually going to be at the Festivities? Seems like everytime I make the journey, you have to work-you need to own your law firm. :)

Why not just bring in temporary aluminum bleachers that are useful for seating instead of those three-level standing things that were pushed so far back against the fence that I saw about a dozen people using them? When ya'll came to SJU for 409, we set up the end zone bleachers for the first time and had two sets of extras on each side of the visitor's section—something they've yet to repeat. I can guarantee you that if there's a rematch on Dec 1, the crowd will be even larger than this past weekend.

Yes, I know you've got absolutely no say in this, I'm just venting toward the nearest BU supporter ;)
Nice day, huh?

Bad news Johnnie Faithful.  >:(  The price of hops has tripled in the last 2 months. Predictions are that the price of our favorite bevy will increase significantly - especially craft brews like Fat Tire.  :-\
The older the violin - the sweeter the music!

VOJ - try to stop by as close to 11 am as possible and I'll hook you up.
Go Johnnies!!!

Veek-with the grills starting at 9:30 or 10:00, 11:00 will be about the last serving of Polish-depending on the crowd.
