I wouldn't be surprised at all if UST looks long and hard at Caruso at MAC.  I hope he doesn't jump ship but he is one of the best young minds in coaching.

Meidt is a candidate but I heard from a Johnnie this weekend that UST would never hire him.

Grant would take a $40,000 pay cut.

Ramler would get burned at the stake if he took that job with his Johnnie ties.

Or maybe they go outside the state.

This is like the NFL, less then a week after the season and two west region coaches resign (Hefty at Luther)

oAs.

I feel like Ritz with the multiple post, but here goes......

OAS: do you think any of the assistant coaches at Mount Union are looking for a head coaching job? Isn't there a former Mount Union assistant at Coe in Iowa?
Perhaps you could also throw your hat in the ring ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Does St. John's provide a video internet feed to watch the game?

No they do not

These would all be basically lateral moves for the coaches (except for Grant). What would be the legal ramifications if these coaches already have multi-year contracts? Would the AD just let them move to another team in the conference? I can't believe the salary would differ that much.
St Thomas and Luther would both have to be considered plum D3 jobs-- Large undergrad enrollment, good facilities, good numbers and talent already present in the football program, and admission standards not all that selective.
St Thomas, especially, should have no trouble attracting quality applicants.

M Grant was the other finalist 10 yrs ago, but his situation is such now that i'd be stunned to see him leave EPHS other than to retire. (not to mention the $$ cut)

I doubt Meidt will apply but he'd be an interesting choice... Ramler intrigues me greatly (he'd have UST going deeeeeeeeeep in playoffs in no time), but I dont see him applying either. Im sure UST will have plenty of quality candidates, as the job is a gold mine waiting to be taken.  I'm hoping its someone with college experience, at least as a coordinator, preferably on offense

I'm pretty sure there is no sell outs at Clemens, they will cram as many people that show up in there so I wouldn't worry about bringing the tent and sleeping bags

St. John's doesn't draw nearly as well for playoff games as they do for regular season games.   I'm not exactly sure why.  Some of it is the weather, hunting seasons and that sometimes  Thangsgiving weekend can fall on game day.  If you look back to 2002, there were only something like 2,300 posted as attending the Redlands game.   Don't worry about the crowd size this Saturday.

St. John's attendance has been up across the board this season.  Coupled with what looks like decent weather, the game not being Thanksgiving weekend, and knowing that this likely will be the last home game of the year, I'd expect 6,000+, not bad for a playoff game with no help from the opponent's fans.

I thought this was interestesting.  Roney was:

0-10 vs. St. John's,
2-12 in non-conference games,
52-22 in all other games.

How much does Grant make at EP?

As much as he can fit in his pockets--they wipe their asses with $20's in Eden Prairie.

Fellas if I send an emisary to the grill before 11am would that help the situation?

Like Brian or Mike C.?- I'd bet if you send Veek an e-mail with who & when that Veek would grill up a couple polish for the crew. I'll bet Wooderson will be tipping back a few with Duffman before the game unless he has sideline duty this weekend :D

Maybe we can send Carbo and Wooderson...by the way Wooderson does not have sidline duty this weekend...Carbo does...my most disapointing loss was St. Olaf in 2004...i have not been around as long as some of you, but that one sticks out...we were better than those guys and should have played that game on a better field...

DustySJU: Is this true??   :o :o

Suddenly I am frightened by the possibility of a competitive UST football team but excited at the same time that the Rivalry could be renewed with some fresh blood at the top.

RE: Mike Grant's salary

Nobody really knows for sure.  But I believe it is public information because it is a public position as well as I believe he is the AD out at EP (can someone confirm or deny this?)
