Duff, you'll look at this a bit differently when you'r 30 years older.  Agree about the atmostphere, but at least you can get a seat without showing up 2 hours before the game and it's not grass and it's not wet and it's not windy, all situations that we don't seem to handle very well. ;D

Sorry, but I disagree.  While Bethel is a crappy place to play, the Metrodome might suck even more.  While it may? offer more in terms of viewer comfort, I would be happy never watching or playing (not that I have to worry about playing another game) another game there.
I'm too lazy to look this up, but what is our record playing at the Dome?

BU5758, you are always welcome to join us at the Stiftungsfestivities. Hopefully we will have a significant number of Redlands fans at the tailgate tomorrow morning in Collegeville.

TDT, what is with the "Puke of Paris Hilton, Nelly Furtado, et al."? Don't forget U2, ColdPlay, David Gray, Dave Matthews, etc.

57. can you save me a spot for Saturday's game?  Work has been hell the last couple of weeks, and I surely don't want to miss another game.  Appreciate it if I were to be put in the regular spot.  Thanks.
Got you covered. With ZIP going to the game (with the Polish Dogs) bennie & I will need help.  :)

Tmerts, I believe as I type this, Finsleft is up a tree with a round in the chamber waiting for Bambi's boyfriend to walk into the crosshairs.    Extreme northern Minnesota.    And I bet it is invigoratingly cold there now.

If he's lucky, we'll have a taste of venison at the game next Sat.

Anybody know if the Metrodome is available on that day? Seems like the place for a game of that magnitude  to be played!  Could probably get 20,000 in the dome for the game.

That is a terrible idea.

1) The metrodome is a horrid place to play a game.
2) Even 20,000 in that place looks terribly sparse.

We could move it to the Fargodome...the NCAA seems to like that place... ;D

Well the Polish are loaded in the cooler, all 20 lbs. Will be leaving after representing a seller in a home sale at 11:00. Safe travels to all. Looking forward to seeing everyone and SJU bringing home a victory.

Do they have new-style turf up there yet?  I think I still have scars from the old stuff up there!  I like the size and ambiance, but I remember that place getting really "stuffy" when playing.

A tradition unrivaled...

Duff, I believe they replaced the turf a couple of years ago in the Fargo Dome. It still gets stuffy on the field when you have a high school game! I can't imagine what it would be like with 15,000 people in the stands!!

That was a nice artice on Johnniefootball.com by Redlandsfan. But SJU will not have that many turnovers in this game and it really shouldn't be a close game. Kofoed will come out and I am going to say this, have his best game this year and the Johnnie D will be ready to go.

I thought so.  We played there twice my junior year (Concordia and PLU).  The old turf was really abrasive.

If my memory serves me correctly, the "old" turf was actually recycled from the Metrodome! I reffed a number of games on that turf. I remember thinking to myself, I would hate like hell getting tackled on this stuff!

I think the Bison upgraded the locker rooms etc a couple of years ago. That's whne the new turf went in.

No love for St. Norberts in any of the various pick 'em.
SJU and Bethel, solid selections.

DuffMan,
Yes, I am the "old fogy" who was taking pictures last Sat. I believe it was you who said, when I moved the camera around to you, "A Bethel guy???"  The others had given me their names, which they use when they post.  I didn't get yours.

The Metrodome-I was there the previous Friday for Bethel/Augsburg and liked the seating, view, etc., things we old fogies like. After last Saturday at Bethel, I think I have a mild case of pneumonia.

I suggest the Metrodome because I think it would put both teams on a level playing field and the best team SHOULD win the game. I would like to see the best team out of the MIAC advance...but this is getting ahead of things.   Also, I was at the game last Saturday at 10:15a and got my seat on the 50 yd line four rows from the top, just so I wouldn't have to stand around the field trying to see the game over/through five or six people standing in front of me.  Bethel is not set up to handle a crowd of 10,000 or more.

I can't understand why Bethel is building a multi-million dollar student center/commons when they should be investing dollars in a football stadium.
