I thought Augsburg got the Dome's old turf ???

The Fargo Dome turf would have been from about 8-9 years ago. Auggie probably got the stuff, that replaced the turf that went to the Fargo Dome.

Clear as mud?
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Tmerts, I believe as I type this, Finsleft is up a tree with a round in the chamber waiting for Bambi's boyfriend to walk into the crosshairs.    Extreme northern Minnesota.    And I bet it is invigoratingly cold there now.

If he's lucky, we'll have a taste of venison at the game next Sat.

Hmmm ... Wonder if he took Willie.  Well, here's a dad who could teach Fins a few lessons on hunting with your kids.

Augsburg = Old turf from Pontiac Silverdome layed nicely over a slab of concrete with NO padding

FargoDome was new when installed.  when I played was not so bad, for turf

Metrodome = sucked a$$ especially playing the day after a Monster Truck Rally..can you say infection city

All were fun pre-game to go out an throw tennis balls around.  They got made at us at the Metrodome for hitting golf balls around!   ::)

bennie,
Sorry to see the Ducks lose. I was rooting for them. At best, they were wearing (using fins terms) the least of the uglies.  ;)

Michigan Boy, 13, Driving for Drunk Dad Charged With DWI

Friday, November 16, 2007

CLIO, Mich. —  A police officer checking on a truck that got stuck in the mud at a city park was startled to find a 13-year-old boy behind the wheel.

The officer also was surprised that the boy appeared to be drunk.

So did the teen's father, who was riding in the front seat. He told police that he had turned over the driving duties to his son because he'd had too much to drink.

Open containers of beer and liquor were found in the vehicle, said Clio Police Chief James McLellan.

"[The boy] even said he didn't want to drive because he was too drunk," McLellan told The Flint Journal for a story published Thursday.

The father, a 41-year-old Flint-area man, is facing several misdemeanor counts, including child endangerment, allowing an intoxicated person to drive his vehicle and allowing an unlicensed minor to drive, police said.

The boy has been petitioned into juvenile court on charges that include driving while intoxicated, police said.

The pair were arrested the night of Nov. 8. They apparently were trying to get home when they turned into the park to turn around. The truck rolled off the pavement and became stuck in the muddy soil.

DuffMan,
Yes, I am the “old fogy” who was taking pictures last Sat. I believe it was you who said, when I moved the camera around to you, “A Bethel guy???”  The others had given me their names, which they use when they post.  I didn’t get yours.

The Metrodome-I was there the previous Friday for Bethel/Augsburg and liked the seating, view, etc., things we old fogies like. After last Saturday at Bethel, I think I have a mild case of pneumonia.

I suggest the Metrodome because I think it would put both teams on a level playing field and the best team SHOULD win the game. I would like to see the best team out of the MIAC advance…but this is getting ahead of things.   Also, I was at the game last Saturday at 10:15a and got my seat on the 50 yd line four rows from the top, just so I wouldn’t have to stand around the field trying to see the game over/through five or six people standing in front of me.  Bethel is not set up to handle a crowd of 10,000 or more.

I can’t understand why Bethel is building a multi-million dollar student center/commons when they should be investing dollars in a football stadium.

Pretty simple actually.
Because there isn't enough rooms/offices for students every day of the school year, and the only time when the football field becomes an issue is when SJU comes to town once a year.  I understand what you're saying, but it's not the top priority at bethel right now, and I would say they're doing the right thing by taking care of the students first.

Anyone been to confession lately?  Looks like they've made a few changes

To clear up the playing surface question:

FargoDome- Still has the old style abrasive (staph-creating) AstroTurf.
Augsburg- Got rid of their old turf three years ago and now has SprinTurf over a pad.
MetroDome- Decided to go with AstroPlay (made by the same company as AstroTurf) prior to AstroPlay going bankrupt ???  AstroPlay similar to SprinTurf with a sand and rubber mix for infill.  This one is over a pad as well.

We had the option of going during our marriage prep class.  We opted to walk to a local pub for a brew instead ;D

That's because they only gave you an hour to do one or the other, and there was no damn way you could confess all your sins in that amount of time.  ;D

Not to split plastic grasses, but Metrodome is FieldTurf, not AstroPlay, unless FieldTurf bought AstroPlay's assets.

Good choice.
Two things marriage prep doesn't teach:
1. Wives are not trainable
2. Husbands are not trainable

Esq,

Good catch on the FieldTurf acquisition of AstroPlay assets post-bankruptcy :)  Original installation was planned to be AstroPlay, they file for bankruptcy protection but still want to install the field.  Long story short, time was running out prior to the baseball season (Twins) and FieldTurf agreed to install the field in a two/three week period in March...working 24/7 inside with the lights.  Installation was less than satisfactory, with many fixes and changes since.

You could likely find some nice case history on this one.........I mean you could have one of the junior attorneys do some research for you ;D
