From Frank's blog:

QuoteIn other lineup-related news, sophomore Ethan Eid and sophomore Josh Rose could rotate by series in Saturday's game. Eid impressed the coaching staff with his play in last week's loss to Bethel. Sophomore Ryan Wimmer is expected to be back.

Another step toward Rose's inevitable evoluation into a d-lineman?

BU B&G--- i think you meant every other year (at most) for SJU @ Bethel...although this year could see 2 visits in one season... but I agree with you-- the priority should be for the everyday campus life, not the once in a while events.

Is there anything comparable to Stiffyfest happening @ BU tomorrow? I will be kept in the metro area due to a death in the family and prior plans, but will be watching BU's first-ever NCAA win

I was going to comment until I realized it was a joke question.   ;)

Prediction:

Based on this seasons results if this was a road game SJU may be in trouble, but at home we win 31-14.

In 2002 the Bulldog fans were greeted with students in swimsuits blaring the Beach Boys while throwing oranges.  What new things have you guys come up with for this years game?  I was playing and the atmosphere was great, plus my dad said that your fans were awesome.  Not many SCIAC fans are as creative.  Oxy thinks that hearing safety school year after year is a good one, but come on, be original.  So, what do you guys have planned?

this Ethan Eid kid has impressed me.     Very athletic; really seems to know what's going on.     And he's what - frosh or soph?    I think a Cretin grad.     We're lucky to have him.

Eid, Wimmer & Rose are all Sophs.

Agree about the atmosphere, but at least you can get a seat without showing up 2 hours before the game and it's not grass and it's not wet and it's not windy, all situations that we don't seem to handle very well. ;D

Why don't we just play the game in Collegeville?  Clemens Stadium has atmosphere, ample seating, Alex Kofoed's SprinTurf, and the sun always shines on Johnnie Football.

You fellas are sure willing to make an assumption that the President simply won't make.  Bethel has NEVER won 1 playoff game, let alone 2 to get them into a West Region Final.  I put the odds at no better than 15-1 that Bethel plays on Dec. 1.

The fact that they're all sophs is just sick.  The Johnnies front 7 graduates only Eversman and Shockman, arguably the two least heralded players (Most replaceable players?  I don't know, whatever the most polite way to say it, that's what I'm going for.).  No word yet on if Nick Gunderson will forgo his senior season and apply for the NFL Draft, of course.

Next season, I'd imagine Eid takes over for Shockman at linebacker and David Burns slots in on the D-line for Eversman.  For what it's worth, Rose is the second largest defensive starter behind Gunderson (by weight, that is, as Rose is listed at 6-1, 245).

Of course, the Johnnies graduate 3/4ths of the secondary and almost the entire offense.  Hopefully all this talk is 5 games premature.

Anyone been to confession lately?

We had the option of going during our marriage prep class.  We opted to walk to a local pub for a brew instead ;D

That's because they only gave you an hour to do one or the other, and there was no damn way you could confess all your sins in that amount of time.  ;D

Well, basically, I learned in that class that most of my life is a sin, so you're probably right. :D

I don't know of any current students that post on here, so we'll have to see what they come up with.  Most of us are at least 27+, with a good contingent of 40+ crowd ;D

By the way, what did you play?  I also played in that game at defensive tackle.  I'm guessing you're not making the trip?

Mr.Shoes

TDT: just been reading regularly as of late. During Twins season, I read it on occasion. I've been deathly bored at work the past couple weeks, so it's fun to read the site and follow links see what the Corporate Internet Nanny blocks.

Duff: speak for yourself (and the other old fogies). I'm only 26.

DawgHeaven: I doubt the students and/or Rat Pak will come up with anything that creative this year. As Duff pointed out on JohnnieFootball.com, they've been an epic disappointment in recent years.

Everyone: I just read every post on the SCIAC board since the pairings were announced. A) I'm bored out of my skull at work (see above), and B) they sure are confident they'll win tomorrow. Oh, and C) it was great to see tmerts, 57, Duff, and TC antagonizing and bringing some life to the conversation over there. Nice work, fellas.
Nice day, huh?

Interesting article on Flannery.  Was rather amused by the Adrian Peterson question but am assuming that he was referring to the fact that he has made such a significant impact on the Royals squad as Peterson has for the Vikings.  Would have liked to have seen both there faces as the question of thinking of the NFL was brought up.  Nontheless, sounds like a great future for this kid barring injury.  Still trying to figure out what I would have said to the "What did you hear about Bethel that you didn't like" question.
