Thanks Mr. Shoes...and WOW, how many receiving yards did Weber end up with on Saturday?

Not sure if that was a rhetorical question, but...  Weber had 5 catches for 102 yards and a score.  Pretty impressive when you consider that neither Kofoed or Hansel attempted a pass to him in the second half.

Dutchfan1***:
Let's see, SJU has an offense, that is where this guy throws the ball to others called recievers and someone runs the ball, oh, yea, a runningback.
The there is the defense, they just try to stop the other teams' offense. SJU has both an offense and defense, oh, and a special teams, you know punter and kicker, and SJU is pretty good at all those. Wow, that was too much football, anyone have a Hamms?

Mr Shoes. You said it, and said it well. (+k for you)

oldbeake  -  My condolances. You are always welcome to join in on the folderol here. Every year we try to breathe a little life into other boards, most of the time with less than spectacular results. There are always a few though, who join in the fun. The LL guys (RPI specifically) may even outdo us as funsters.

I gotta give TC credit. Shortly before the 61-yard bomb, he said "Halftime score, 28-6." He was one F-ed up call by F away from nailing it.

As the Johnnies were breaking the huddle prior to that play, I turned to Brady and said, "Why can't we seem to score a long TD this year."

B-I-N-G-O!

SJU - Ethan Eid 89 yd interception return (Braden Beeson kick)
SJU - Brian Weber 51 yd pass from Alex Kofoed (Russell Gliadon kick blockd)
SJU - David Burns 89 yd interception return (Russell Gliadon kick)
SJU - Mike Patnode 61 yd run (Russell Gliadon kick)
SJU - Brian Weber 62 yd pass from Alex Kofoed (Russell Gliadon kick)
SJU - Brian Weber 46 yd pass from Alex Kofoed (Russell Gliadon kick)

Granted, I was expecting more than that (and two of those listed were on defense) but for team without a Blake Elliott-type difference maker I think that's a pretty decent total.

Take away the two defensive scores and you're left with a measly four (three when I made my comment).  Maybe I got spoiled watching guys like Herbst, Sieben, Elliot, etc... :(

A tradition unrivaled...

Those weren't all from Saturday's game.

I'm always game.  I may get fired from my job this week, but alas...I gotta keep that dream to be paid for smack talk alive.

Ok-more football talk-in second round NCAA playoff games since 1976 against the IIAC, SJU have averaged 31.3 points per game and has given up 12.3. Looks like SJU by 19 on Saturday. And SJU has won 66.7% of all their second round NCAA playoff games.

All that time in the woods gave me time to reflect upon who might get awards this year from the MIAC. I'm going out on a limb and predict Johnson gets Coach of the Year, and his QB Wetzell gets league MVP. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Cobs' Weller get the Stam.

Several Johnnies would be deserving of All-Conference honors: Cloeter, Gunderson, Kofoed, Patnode, Salvato, Schumacher & Wimmer all should be named.

Hope I'm right.
