I don't much care for Underwood Deviled Ham, though.

Speaking of that does anyone have clue as to why Spam is a frickin' delicacy in Hawaii?

At least the Iowegians have now come over to talk football since we don't do it on their board.   ::)
Everyday is payday in paradise.

The Johnnies have called in the heavy hitters from RPI to the IIAC board.  :P

Nice recruiting job -- classy. That's just what our board needs this week -- more useless posts. The Johnnies already have that market cornered.... I'm shocked that you guys think you need the help.

See, the thing is, we're all fans and have absolutely no input as to the outcome of these games, save for some cheering and sideline heckling. As such, we like to take the "it's a game and a fun one at that" angle and enjoy ourselves on the intarwebs. Limiting the talk to numbers and matchups and stats makes being a fan less fun—especially in a forum where our contributions mean absolutely nothing come Saturday.

Yes, I'll agree that the MIACPP has a rather low signal:noise ratio, but the entertainment value offered is off the charts. The White Silly wouldn't exist (in theory) were the MIACPP as straight-laced and, frankly, dull as some of the other [unnamed] forums.

We can't constantly preach the "for the fun/love of the game" merits of DIII football to the rest of the world if the biggest online DIII community doesn't have any fun. If stats and raw football topics are all that matter, go DI.

</ boring serious crap>
As a Dutch fan...I dig it, personally.

You all have added a little life to our board (generally a love fest week to week).

Sure, there has been some stuff resembling the monkey cage at the zoo, but watching a poo fight can be fun, too.

Most of the offended, for the record, are those that lost a game to a MIAC team this season...and those guys are in the majority in the IIACPP.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...the part where TDT explains how the size of one's bandwagon wins a football game.

see, we're good for sumthin'!
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Was there much chatter in the MIAC board this summer regarding the scandalous events in the IIAC.  I believe a star player from one school (Coe - maybe?) jumped ship and transfered to the rival school (I believe Wartburg, but may be totally off!)  Would the Johnnies take the star player from UST(d) if he wanted to come and play for them.  I realize I offer up a huge opportunity here to take a big whack at the Tommie football program, and suggest things like; if he could even get on the field, yadda-yadda.  But, if for instance, B. Elliot's father had been a UST grad, and to humor his dad had originally gone to UST, but realized he wanted to play for a team that gave him a better shot at national playoffs and decided to transfer, would you SJU backers cheer him on as one of you, or would he always be an outsider?  I figured it is appropriate to ask, as this is the first time that the SJU hoard has paid much attention to the goings on of the IIAC, and to me, was quite a story for this fall!

Hopefully one of the IIAC posters can edit/update my post with the correct schools!

My freshman year, one of the top WRs was a senior by the name of Steve Lynch. He went to Carleton for a year before transferring to SJU, but wasn't what you'd call a "star". Solid WR, yes. Big-name transfer that shook the MIAC, nope.

That said, I think we'd be pretty open to taking transfers from a MIAC school. For instance, I bet John would be glad to have Flannery next season ;) However, as I cannot remember a relevant occasion (chime in, old timers!), I really have no idea if this would fly or not. I guess I'm looking at it from a pure "receiving end" PoV. If we were losing studs to a rival, I'd be pissed.
Nice day, huh?

LAB,
Neil Suckow,  who ran for 445 yards for the Kohawks last fall, transfered to Wartburg. Don't know much about how he did -- other than absorbing a loss to your Auggies ....

SPAM was a staple in the diets of our veterans that fought in World War 2.

The Navy introduced Spam to the Hawaian Islands via our base at Pearl Harbor.

The population took to it and to this day more Spam is consumed per capita in Hawaii than any state in the union.

My opinion on Suckow was that he was outstanding as a freshman.  Looked to have a ton of promise and really stired things up in the IIAC.  Somwhere along the line he injured his ankle and if the truth be known he most likely never recovered.  He moved around to many positions.  Supposedly fued with the coaches, his girlfriend was at Wartburg, who knows.  When he played heathly he laid the hammer down, otherwise he played a lot of decoy roles.  All of this is IMO.

Just wanted to post one of my highlights from the SJU Redlands game.

LBean walking out of the Porta John looking like he got in a fight with the anti-bacterial hand wash dispender and lost.

He looked like he was 10 minutes out from performing a major labotomy on someone.

He looked like someone emptied a gallon of clothes detergent in a public fountain.

it was priceless.

I know you Minnesotans are famous for your tailgating and hospitality and all of that, but while you are in Iowa, please don't feed any of the presidential candidates you are likely to encounter.  Iowans are afraid that if they get used to people feeding them, they will never leave.

You know, if a few of you bastards had been a little nicer to Scrubby when he was around here we wouldn't be having this discussion.

MIAC Awards are out - a little surprised by the Stam winner.  While I don't follow every team's O-line, I follow the MIAC pretty closely and had never heard of this guy.

I have some issues with the all-miac selections - why not honor everybody if you're going to honor 6!!! QBs in a 9 team conference?  That is a bit rediculous.

The other observation, wow, olaf graduates a lot of talent!!  This may have been their best shot. . .

fannosaurus rex, any chance we could get Hillary to stop by the Stiftungsfestivities Saturday morning? :P The ultimate dream would be to have her and Paris Hilton both in attendance.

Klopenheimer, have you actually been to the EelPout Festival in Walker? It rocks. Biggest outdoor keg party in Minnesota. Another great option the same weekend is the BockFest in New Ulm. Duffman can vouch for the latter.
