sju56321,

Full disclosure: I'm both a Mount Union and a Plattsburgh fan, having attended both (transferred from Plattsburgh to MUC after two years).

As for Mount Union always being at the top of their game.  I've long marveled at that myself.  I guess it must come from knowing that each week, you KNOW you're going to get that team's best effort.  But how Keheres keeps them fighting so hard is beyond me.  It just makes me more impressed with him as a coach.  I'll admit, their talent pool can help to overcome mediocre efforts against lower-level schools, but that only carries them so far.  Talking to a few of the players while I was there, they just kept saying that they didn't want to be the team to begin the downfall of the program.  The players know the history.  They see the banners and trophies.  They have heard the numbers.  And it eats them up when they are the ones that get a '1' put in the loss column.  But the remarkable thing about that...when they do lose, they know it's not the end of the world, and they begin preparing to not allow another loss to happen to the program.  In 2005, when Mount lost to ONU in the regular season, they got caught by a hot team playing a perfect game while they were resting a little on what had been done in the past.  They weren't the best Mount team by a long shot that year, but the loss ignited them and is probably the main reason they won that Stagg bowl.  How Keheres does it, though, is a matter beyond my comprehension.  How many times can you be inspired by being told "yeah, you're ranked #1, but rankings don't mean a thing.  Go out there and SHOW them you're number 1!"

Guru or any Johnnie posters,

For some reason I am unable to log off the site.  Any suggestions?

Also in the small world news:  Two of the guys I work with over here Played D3 football.  One at Alfred (upstate NY)  the other at Wooster ( Ohio).  They both did not know that D3 had a web site.

Why should I cheer for Bethel?  Simply because they're a MIAC team?  That doesn't mean squat to me.  I'm not a "go MIAC" guy, I'm a "go Johnnies" guy.  I cheer for whichever team I like more.  I have a ton of respect for Central, so I am pulling for them.

I couldn't care less if you or anyone else from Bethel cheered or will cheer for SJU.

A tradition unrivaled...

Yea I will try to use it wisely, I am seeing mine go up and down like a yo-yo...I guess that is what you get when you try to complement others on their wins.

Bluenote, good to hear from you. Maybe I should make a trip out to McMinnville next weekend and spend Saturday afternoon sampling wine in the Willamette Valley. ;)

...either that or maybe a martini at the Elks Club would take the hurt off faster!

How fickle karma is...I congratulate Central on the Iowa board...make a few postings about the game, none of them offensive and I take a hit or two...

I think we're all taking hits from some midnight smiters.  +k

Mr.Shoes

I can never remember what mine was anyway.

Ironically enough, I do remember what it was earlier today and see that I went up 1. Go figure.
Nice day, huh?

wow. alot of concern for karma floating around. If you're a johnnie fan, you get +k for everything, and if you're not your karma is relatively stable, or it falls if you should every say anything negative about sju. whats the point.

This might be the only board I can remember where posters aren't rallying behind their conference's postseason representative. Any win in the postseason elevates the entire conference, especially here where the MIAC has a shot to shed its one-trick pony status.

VOJ - I saw you pull in for the game (it's difficult to not notice the station's vehicle).  Too bad you weren't able to get over for a burger and wild rice sausage as that would have been the highlight of your day!  There's always next year, however, and many more tailgates to follow.

As others have stated, your broadcasts are top notch and SJU is extremely fortunate to have you, Bryan, Mike, and Charlie in their corner.

Duff - I always have, and probably always will, root for my conference to progress in the playoffs after my team is out.  This week will be the first time that I will have ever rooted for Bethel without SJU still in the mix but I personally would like to see the MIAC advance to the next level.  I have the utmost respect for Central and if they prevail this week I will root them on for the remainder of their season, too.  For me it is SJU first, MIAC second, and the West region champ third.  Hell, I even root for the Pack and Bears once the Vikings are out of it.  The Packers first, followed by the Bears of course.  Sorry, Zip.

Where's TDT?  He must still be recovering from Friday night.  ;D
Go Johnnies!!!

VOJ,

That is a fair assessment and I guess I do agree.

Duffman,

What a joke. It is a shame you are such ass. If it weren't for you over the years my I would have incredible respect for your program.
