Nice work Royals!!  An edge was presented, the weather, and you took full advantage of it.  Good teams force their competition outside of their game plan.  With natures help you pommeld the red an white.  Congrats

Did anybody believe that UMBH could beat MUC other than Cru fans?  Probably not....
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

Congrats to the Royals.  I hope you guys go over to MUC and at the min keep the game close and respectible.

I hope you are taking a heathly team.  I am sure the campus buzz is outstanding with this latest win.

Still scratching my head trying to figure out how my Beavers beat BU and the two teams go on to have totally differnt seasons.

I guess I this will be something I think about for years to come with no real answers.

Don't you hate posts like that? Way to go, you won, BUT, the weather.......

By the way, what does POMMELD mean?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Congrats to BU-it is agreat experience playing at Mount and hope you have a healthy team. I wonder if the game will be video streamed on the web?
Any word on Duff's hangover level-1?

Planning on being there, let me know if you're coming and I'll stock up accordingly.

What's the difference between Dutch fan and a puppy?" Answer: "The puppy stops whining....eventually.

You guys can keep smiting me all you want. I don't lose sleep over karma.

Dusty,
Dang man, was still hoping SJU would have been here instead of BU, and we could have had those burgers&brauts and catch up on that beer you owe me! I hope Wentzel(sp) is alright to play, as i'm sure that might be the next reason Mount beat someone in the National semi final!

Can someone tell me who has the final say as to the field being cleared in a case like this, is it the officials or the grounds crew? If the grounds crew, why wasn't the field cleared between quarters? If the officials, how bad does it have to be before they make a call? With turf fields they have to luxury to use plows & not put ruts into the field.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

JVF, you have a huge karma to post ratio, so you must be pleasing someone.  +k

The following three plays change the complexion of the football season in the MIAC and the West Region....Bethel gets all three to go in their favor and look what happens.  I would venture a guess that any one of the three go different and Bethel is not traveling to Alliance next week.  Before all the Bethel folks jump this post, keep in mind a loss to SJU--would have kept you out of the playoffs.  How many of you can honestly say that prior to the score by Flannery with 24 seconds to go you didn't feel your season was done?

--Russell Gliadon kickoff 58 yards to the BU-FB12, out-of-bounds, PENALTY
SJU illegal procedure 5 yards to the SJU25, NO PLAY.  (Bethel forcing SJU to rekick was a strange call considering that to that point Bethel had the ball for 4:30 minutes in the first quarter and had 18 yards of offense)

--Russell Gliadon kickoff 61 yards to the BU-FB14, Tim Cornish return 86 yards
to the SJU0, TOUCHDOWN, clock 14:37.  (Next play makes Steve Johnson look like a genius)

--B 2-8  B42   Ben Wetzell pass complete to Aaron Bernstett for 36 yards to the SJU22,
1ST DOWN BU-FB (Sam Gervais), PENALTY SJU face mask 5 yards to the SJU17.  (THE PLAY on the last drive and probably the PLAY of the year for Bethel.  Without this completion, Bethel doesn't get close enough to score......next play would have been 3rd and long with an incompletion)

Congratulations on the West Region Championship.

You know, this might be even simpler than those three plays.  I assume Bether won the coin toss at the start of the game and deferred to the second half.  What if we had won the toss and deferred.  Get to go on defense first, maybe get an early turnover in Bethel territory while they come out a bit tight on offense.  Get to receive the ball in the second half, put together a bit of a drive before everyone gets cold and tight...who knows, it might have been the coin toss.   ???

Yea the last thing you guys need is someone's excuse on why you kicked the crap out of them.

And you thought it was cold today, the snowball in hell will be in no danger of melting next week.
I don't think many people have any illusions that bu will win next week, in fact I think we'll get routed,  but we're proud of our team, and we're still cheering them on in december. how 'bout you stanbob?

still behind my team, when was the last time you could say that in december, if you say last year and before stfu.

As it has been discussed on this board, sju will always have history on its side, and you know what, they will probably win the miac 40 of the next 50 years, but the fact that in those years that someone is better than them, you have to sit at home and take shots at that team shows that you don't deserve to be lumped in with the class act that the rest of johnnie nation is.
I could not care less if people choose not to "cheer" for bethel that week, it really doesn't matter, but I am sick of people dragging us through the mud just because that person can't stand to see someone doing better than them, even if it's just for a little while. grow up.
