KR Checking in for my pre-ordered serving of Humble Pie with a side of crow please! :-\

KR- I will do my best to bring your Humble Pie to your Stif next year in Arden Hills. Perhaps you can share it around with some of your friends from St. John's. If I find a crow lying along I-90 on my way out here from Tacoma next Fall, I will bring that with. Seriously, nice to meet you guys from St. John's who post on here.  Usually good for some laughs every time I read through the posts.

Also, due to poor weather conditions in Pella yesterday, I was not able to talk to Flannery's parents to get the "undeniable, irrefutable, conclusive evidence" that Scruby41 is not Flannery's grandfather. Will make another attempt this weekend in Alliance.

RaiderGuy - Will you be in Alliance this Saturday?

KR, what were you thinking.... and now we ask for all the support we can get from the MIAC.  The Johnnie karma is huge, and I know for a fact a lot of Bethel fans, alum, follow this forum,  support us and lets bring MUC another suprise.  Lets go MIAC, this is huge for Minnesota, and the MIAC in general.  Great recruiting stuff right now...   we feel truly blessed, and  the coolest thing for BU RIGHT NOW is they get to hang together for one more week. And I know how special that is for these guys..  One last thing,  thanks Central fans who I talked to during and before the delay for hours...  you guys were great dads, and great fans..  And lastly, you guys were class in the Register today.  You made no excuses, and in that kind of weather, I know it would be really tempting..  Congratulations Seniors,  you guys are warriors.......

Flash - Remember it's not the size of the purse that counts, it's the size of the rock IN the purse. If I come on Saturday, maybe I'll bring my last Olde Johnny Ale as a peace offering.

Great photo's.  The Internet broadcast did not make it seem to be as snowy and slushly as it actually was.  Reminds me of when we were kids and went outside to play football after the first big snow.  Do they do that in Iowa or just Minnesota?

Why are we off the h/a alternating with so many teams?  Augsburg, Bethel, Concordia and Carleton

I believe the answer to your question is this: in year 1 of the "alternating schedule" you play your normal home/away games.  In year two, the teams you played at home you now play away, and vice versa.  In year 3 your home/away schedule resets, and has nothing to do with year 2.  Year 4 is opposite to year 3, year 5 is reset, and so on...

...which is why I only got to play the Johnnies in Collegeville 1 time out of my 4 years.  My freshman year was the second year of an alternation and we had them at home.  Sophomore was a reset year and we played them in Collegeville.  Junior year was therefore at home, and Senior year was a reset and we had them at home again.

You make it sound like it was a bad thing-- after all, wasn't BU 2-2 in those games, with its 2 wins coming in Arden Hills?  I assume that you are referring to the period between 1997-2000, which saw at BU, at SJU, at BU and at BU.  (A few years ago there were some comments by Bethel fans in here how it was unfair that they had to play in Collegeville 3 times in 4 years with the off year at the dome...umm...the Johnnies didn't make the schedule or put that game in the dome).

I think the MAC loss has made the MIAC follow something like a 10-year schedule rotation, with each team playing home and home each five times in a ten year period.  That doesn't exactly even out to the straight alternating schedules.  It used to be that Concordia, on its fantastic old site, had posted the future MIAC schedules, but I can't seem to find them now on the redesigned site; and SJU only has listed the 2008 and 2009 schedules on its site.

With all trust, there is no conspiracy in schedules here...

From what Jimmy G has told me the MIAC re-sets every two years in order to find out if Mac wants to come back and be in the MIAC again or enjoy their "favorite school" status of competing in the conference in all sports but one...which I think is crap, if you are dropping a program that is one thing, but continuing to play and snub your nose at the MIAC is another.  After all they are scheduling the Tommies again, and one of the reasons they left the MIAC was because of the drubbings they were getting from UST, SJU, Bethel, Concordia...I guess they think that the Tommies are now closer to their level.

More "message board" talk from the Dutch broadcasting team...

Man, we musta really woke 'em up last week.

Congratulations Bethel..... you get your shot at big brother now.

Developing....
Ha, yeah and it could be extra ugly without wetzell next weak.
Does mount have ANY weaknesses? or are we screwed on all fronts?

Mount is good, but they can be beaten. If BU can control the ball like they are capable of (with a few 10 min drives) and doesnt make mistakes and turnovers, they can bring back a  W for the new West Champs

Maniac...way to state the obvious...next you will tell me water is wet, just like OAS's balls or something like that...

Yes they have a bookstore.  I have had the coat and hat for over 10 years.  Don't really wear it all that much but with it being cold and wet it was the best thing for the day.  The Hawks maybe bad but they still took care of the Golden Gophers this year  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I doubt RaiderGuy will be in Alliance this Saturday...this past Saturday he was discharged from the hospital after suffering a stroke earlier last week, I happened to learn of this by talking to his wife on Saturday, because I thought he might be in Alliance this past Saturday.  The good news is he has showed no signs of memory loss, he temporarily lost feeling on his left side but that has returned and his speech has not been affected...I and the rest of the Johnnies broadcast crew hope for a speedy return to normal life for RaiderGuy and hope to see him passing out the jello shots at the first tailgate next year...

If Bethel can control the clock with 10 minute drives by running the ball at Mount, it will be the biggest surprise of the year.  That will be a flawed gameplan if they stick to that.  The only weakness the Mount D has shown this year is to the spread them out, quick passing attack.  Mount's DB's play a pretty soft man to man, and usually every play someone is open.  HOWEVER, the opposing QB is only going to have a short, finite amount of time to throw the ball.  Usually their D-line is bringing pressure, and when they bring one or both of the LB's or Kostelnick (SS/LB) it usually means you have about 3 seconds to get rid of the football.

The weather is going to be cold, and snowy for most of this week, but as of now it looks like a warm-up to low 40's for Saturday, with little or no snow/rain.
