60 yd run by Danny Jones to the 25.  UWW looks to be ready to break this one open.  Skunks you got nothing to worry about.

I've been waiting for WW or MHB to convince me that they can give MUC a game next week.  So far, not.

Where's Fins this weekend?  Back in the north or sitting in his ice fishing shack?
Present and unaccounted for! Had to stop in and check on the scores. No big surprises today.
Trying to talk Wilbur into going out snowmobiling. He wants to go bowling. ::)

Well, I don't see anything to suggest that WW will give the Mount a game this year.

Bowling?    :-[ :-X
Yes, in most places, bowling's just a sport. Here, it's funded by the arts council.

The White Silly

Mount should be in BCS consideration...I think the Mount could hang with Hawaii (not really though)

Is Shorts from Florida?

No, Shorts is from Cleveland.

Just got back from the game. Great turnout by the Bethel Fans...very impressive. Met some of them....nice people. No sense dissecting the game in any detail. Bethel simply could not run the ball (against Mount's 1st team) and they had little in the passing game.

Congrats to the Royals on a great season and outstanding fan support traveling to Alliance.

OK if you're Bethel/Steve Johnson:

What is your halftime speech?

Are you wishing you hadn't publicly disclosed your punch then in the mouth strategy?

"You wanna crown their ass?  Then crown 'em!  We let 'em off the hook!"

No Bethel never had them on any hook...

If it is true that Bethel students were booking their trips to Salem already, I hope that they can get their money back without paying a huge penalty.  If they can't, they will learn an excellent economics lesson about bad investments.  Or, they could take advantage of it and make the trip to Salem and have a good time watching Mount get number 10.
They should have practiced harder.

Maybe you should stop posting junk redtooth.

Coming from you, that's funny.  I'd say a Bethel 28, Mount 17 prediction is junk, wouldn't you?

Good season, Bethel.  To Bethel fans not named AO, see you next year...maybe.

Disregard the fact that I AM THE WHITE SILLY for a second...honest, serious, real question here...being that I have never played past junior high football, how would Mount Union fair in Division 1-AA?  Any good guestimates would be good.

(not)

MUC wouldn't be even on the field with any of the 1-AA teams that are still playing at this time of year....

TD ROYALS!!! - no longer a shut-out!

..... I think from watching this game, MUC would probably be able to play with some of the bottom tier teams, but the is a distinct difference in size, speed, strength, and athleticism when you start talking D1 of any level.  I believe MUC would fare quite well with many D2 schools in the country, maybe even some that are still playing.  This years MUC team is VERY, VERY good!  I will not go as far as saying that they could win the D2 championship, but, they might not get blown out vs. some of the still playing D2 schools. - my guestimate at least - not that there is any "proof" possible.

As a season ticket holder for one of the Top 5 teams in IAA.....Mount Union is as good as 95% of the teams that I've seen play Montana.  I would not discount Larry against anyone.  They are as fundamentally sound and aggressive as they would need to be to stay with the top teams.

I dunno I would have to disagree there.  Ive seen probably the same level that you have the last 3-4 years in Boston at Northeastern (who has played Umass, Georgia Southern, Deleware, New Hampshire, Richmond, Boston College), and those teams are much bigger, stronger and faster than MUC is.  Just their defenses alone look totally different than MUCs defense does.  QBs from schools like Richmond and New Hampshire would probably make MUCs defense look pretty silly.  I mean Umass was within a touchdown of Boston College this year.

excuse me for making a prediction.  I did not know that it would offend you.

Congrats to the Royals on an excellent season. Always tough to go through a beating at the hands of MUC(k). I remember the experience of watching the Johnnies go through it in `93 when we averaged 61.5 points a game during the regular season.

To everyone on the board, Merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays.

Earlier in the week, I read that Coach Johnson had said, "We will return from Alliance happy or ecstatic."

After enjoying Mount's victory, from my usual seat on the visitor's side, I saw Bethel fans expressing their adoration, pride and their support of the the Royals.  The team was clearly appreciative of their support.  Seeing the outpouring of fan support and watching the players soak it in was heart-warming.  Look up D3 football and you'll see a post-game picture of the Bethel fans and players.

I believe they will return from Alliance happy.

I left the game with great admiration and respect for Bethel's players, coaches and fans and and increased love of D3 football.
