Bethel's fans were tremendous.Loved it when they tossed a few weak snowballs at the purple suit guys. What a loud and enthusiastic group;many stood the whole game.Your players carried themselves with a lot of class.Great year.

Maybe you should stop posting junk redtooth.

Coming from you, that's funny.  I'd say a Bethel 28, Mount 17 prediction is junk, wouldn't you?

Good season, Bethel.  To Bethel fans not named AO, see you next year...maybe.
excuse me for making a prediction.  I did not know that it would offend you.

It didn't offend me, but it was junk nonetheless.  Or do you routinely make baseless predictions that couldn't be further from the truth?

And if it stays this score it will be the same deficit as the first time SJU faced Mount. Spooky. In seven years, Bethel can look forward to losing 10-7 in the stagg bowl against the Raiders.
by extension, are you suggesting they will win it all in 2017? Nostradamus would be proud of you   ;D

I don't think UWW will do much against MUC.  As our Linfield friends are fond of saying "Phone it in."  That is a damn good MUC team to put a beat down like that on Bethel, a very good team.    Sorry Bethel, it wasn't like David vs. Goliath or Daniel in the Lions Den.  Rather, it was Christians being fed to the hungry lions this year.  Good job and congrats on a great season.  I hope SJU beats you next year.

SUMMIT!!!!!

So the Heisman goes to Tebow, cursing him for life.

Watching the presentation show made me ponder this one: Which was a bigger tearjerer-- "Brian's Song" or "Something for Joey"?  I think I'm gonna watch them both again

Congrats Bethel on a tremendous season, your team and fans have much to be proud of in your accomplishment this year. Quite frankly, to most of us at Mount you were under the radar so to speak or not even on it, but you have now made a mark for yourselves and for everyone else to realize that there's someone else in Minnesota beyond the Johnnies really wanting the chance to be known as champions. Your fans spirit was something to admire, and a very classy and wonderful group both the fans and players. May you all have a Joyous Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.

The Aztec announcer mentioned Alex having a good game closing in on the Aztec Bowl passing record and then adds "believe it or not." He clarifies a moment later that the record is 'only' 158 yards by Tyler Matthews LINFIELD 2003.

Getting in on this late, I would say that MUC would not be embarrassed playing teams like Lafayette, Lehigh, and the Ivies.

wow...every TDT post I read I can't help but think..."this guy is completely lame..."...AO I like you...I think that you, myself, and Amaru could run a wicked PP wishbone together...

AO > TDT

TWS - do I know you?  Have I shared a locker-room with you at any point?
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Disregard the fact that I AM THE WHITE SILLY for a second...honest, serious, real question here...being that I have never played past junior high football, how would Mount Union fair in Division 1-AA?  Any good guestimates would be good.

(not)

MUC wouldn't be even on the field with any of the 1-AA teams that are still playing at this time of year....

TD ROYALS!!! - no longer a shut-out!

..... I think from watching this game, MUC would probably be able to play with some of the bottom tier teams, but the is a distinct difference in size, speed, strength, and athleticism when you start talking D1 of any level.  I believe MUC would fare quite well with many D2 schools in the country, maybe even some that are still playing.  This years MUC team is VERY, VERY good!  I will not go as far as saying that they could win the D2 championship, but, they might not get blown out vs. some of the still playing D2 schools. - my guestimate at least - not that there is any "proof" possible.

As a season ticket holder for one of the Top 5 teams in IAA.....Mount Union is as good as 95% of the teams that I've seen play Montana.  I would not discount Larry against anyone.  They are as fundamentally sound and aggressive as they would need to be to stay with the top teams.

I dunno I would have to disagree there.  Ive seen probably the same level that you have the last 3-4 years in Boston at Northeastern (who has played Umass, Georgia Southern, Deleware, New Hampshire, Richmond, Boston College), and those teams are much bigger, stronger and faster than MUC is.  Just their defenses alone look totally different than MUCs defense does.  QBs from schools like Richmond and New Hampshire would probably make MUCs defense look pretty silly.  I mean Umass was within a touchdown of Boston College this year.
Jonny Utah- are you disagreeing with me or with Redtooth?  As I sit here and watch the D2 championship game, I'm hesitant to say that MUC could play with these two teams.  The reason for me is simply this.  I believe MUC would probably defeat most lower level D2 schools it faces but would not defeat playoff caliber teams.  Much in the same way, I do think that MUC could play with lower level D1-AA schools (or whatever they are now called) but would not fare well at all vs. middle to upper level D1-AA schools.  Reasoning is this - Lower level D1-AA schools probably have talent, yes, but the reason their talent is not able to win them games is lack of discipline and cohesiveness that will allow them to win.  Same thing for the lower to middle level D2 schools.  This years MUC squad may not have the physical tools as the upper level teams I believe they could beat, but I feel this years team is, talent wise, not as far off in talent as most D3 schools are.  But, in addition, they are polished.  Having played 15 games a year for the last 3 years, this MUC team could play with many of those upper level schools. I in no way believe they would be dominant like they are in D3.  However, I think they could stay on the field.

LAB,

I think he is disagreeing with me on the IAA/FCS issue with Mount.  Keep in mind I didn't say they would dominate the way they do at DIII, but could compete.....by compete I don't mean 6-6 either.  I think they would be a playoff team at IAA and DII.  The size and speed to compete is there.......the intangable quality of being fundamentally solid is where they are much better than most teams at these levels....I see alot of sloppy play both in person and on TV during the playoffs.  The other ace card they would have to compete is named Larry Kehres with a career record of 260-20-3.

Redtooth

Having just reviewed the stat sheet from the game today......one stat jumped out at me; Mount converted only 2 of 8 third downs, but were 7-7 in red zone scoring.  Bethel had 18 third downs to Mount's 8........that prevented the dreaded DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE chant from the Bethel faithful. ;D ;D

Congratulations to the Bethel team and fans for a great year!!
