For those that have followed the post season accolades more closely than I in years past, is there anything to read into the MIAC only getting 5 spots on each of the 3 all region teams (1st, 2nd &3rd), whereas the WIAC placed 8,8 & 7 players on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd teams respectively?  Does D3football.com award the all-region honors as an indication of their belief of conference strength, or do they pick which guy at each position is the best player for that honor.  I am in no way trying to suggest they are, and PC will probably give much better background into the selections, I am simply asking.  As a dedicated MIAC fan, I know very little of the strengths of any of the non-MIAC guys that made the teams and as such, am not suggesting that any of them are not worthy candidates.  I am merely inquiring if the selection process is similar to the way the March Madness is handled with the different conferences getting more or less of their teams in depending on the strength of not only the team itself, but also the conference as a whole.  Pat, if you've got ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Pat Coleman

I can't speak for every voter on the panel but strength of schedule has a mild impact on my ballot. However, the difference between the MIAC and WIAC isn't something I would really take into account. I only look at the consider a player faced when looking at the difference between an MIAC/WIAC/IIAC player and a UMAC/IBFC player. Someone who dominated a lower-level schedule isn't necessarily a better player than someone who did less against a stronger slate of opposition.

What's the latest on the UST job and its potential candidates?

Saw something in the Star Trib where Fritz said they were hoping for a January hire.  Are they already down to some semblance of a finalists list?  Who might be on that list?

I heard Gags was looking to do something a little bit different and had thrown his hat into the mix? ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Pat.  I didn't know how that went about, and your criterion make sense to me!  Was Arlt at GAC given any consideration?  I know Royce, Theissen & Gant all had big years, but so did Arlt?  Just too many good receivers to choose from?  How many true freshmen have been named to the all region teams in the past?  Is Flannery's selection something that should strike fear into all of us non-royal backers?  Obviously he's a tremendous back, but is it completely un-heard-of to make the list as a Frosh?

I'm wondering what my karma will look like after this one!  I may have to hire bodyguards and bomb sniffing dogs - even the suggestion that Gags would trade in the cardinal for purple may lead to death threats!

LAB,

No worries from the SJU faithful.....we know when a good guy like you is joking.  After having to read the crap from AO and TweetyBird, this was welcome comic relief.....+K from me.

Kind of a silly idea but mildly amusing.  John has reportedly considered doing a number of things over the years but I doubt if UST would have ever been one of them.  Too much traffic.  Anyway, I think redtooth is right and even mild amusement these days can get you some +k, so me, too.

Jimmy G could go coach at UST...

I knew that would show up sooner or later...was suprised it was from a guy I consider to be a pretty good poster...Jimmy always gets the shaft when it comes to these things...I think all those guys do good work, Jimmy, Jerry and Gary, Dean and Jim M...

VOJ, I'm going to borrow a response of Redtooth's for this...
