johnnie_esq - I'm with you on the Leinie's Red. Not many better.

PC - I don't know if you're aware or not (and I would guess you are) Yeungling is now available in Florida. I was there in November and was stunned when, after asking for a Leinie Red, and getting a quizzical look, decided to stun the Barmaid even further and asked for and received a Yeungling Lager. Then I come home and read an interview with Jim Furyk in Golf Digest, who lists Yeungling Lager as his fave, and says that he's happy as a pig in slop, because he can now get it in FLA.

It's about time to get my '87 Twins ornament out too.

I just heard Ike Turner died. Rollin', on the River.

Even I don't understand (other) women sometimes!

We don't have any problem with the administrative staff, but our clerical staff can get kind of snarky with each other from time to time.

One of my friends was telling me that when he and his wife argue and he admits that she is right, she want him to explain why she is right. Good Lord, take the satisfaction of being right and run with it!! Why poke? ::)

A few years ago I went on a trip with a female friend. Anytime we were traveling in silence she would turn to me and ask "So what are you thinging?" I was stunned! I always thought that questions like that were stereotypes! I have never asked anyone that! It took all my self control not to respond "If I wanted you to know what I was thinking I would be talking!" ;D Don't even get me started about her making me hold her purse...I felt like a husband! 8)

I see I was smited for my prediction on the Stagg...I guess when ever you are a realist you get hit...

Here is my thinking:  With the exception of SJU, whenever Mount plays somebody in a rematch, or in this case, 3 straight years, they seem to figure out even more ways to expose them...so my thinking is it will be the worst beating that the Warhawks have suffered in the Stagg yet...can you really say UWW is stronger than they were last year, I think you can say that about Mount...

A lot of Bethel folks took exception to our warnings last week that they should be prepared to get beat really bad.  Some of those same folks were saying things like "now I know what you were trying to tell me" as the game unfolded Saturday.

UWW might be better than Bethel, maybe not.  But this year's mount is as VOJ describes, scary good, just beating the crap out of you with fundamentals.

So, UWW all we are saying is keep your expectations in line; winning this game would be the biggest upset in all of college football this year.

BDB-
Plenty of replacements for your ornament on ebay.

RIP, Ike. Just added Proud Mary to the ipod.

bennie, I'm with you on the Ed Bundy-esque answer to the "What are you thinking?" question. My ex used to ask me, "Are you happy?"

As far as explaining why one's wife is right - That may be one of the reasons I'm no longer married. When a guy does something wrong, he has to apologize for doing something wrong; and when the woman is wrong, the guy has to apologize for getting upset at what she did wrong. It's a no-win situation. After a while, a guy just realizes he may as well give in. If he has to explain, it will get him pi$$ed off all over again, because he doesn't really think she's right. Having to come up with some BS just isn't in the cards in that scenario.

I'm not sure what's worse, the blow ups when you don't know what you're not supposed to say, or the gut constricting silence when you do. :-\

Bennie,

Don't even try to convince those of us Johnnies from the late 80s/early 90s that you didn't take the class at CSB called "So what are you thinking?" taught by one of the many feminists on campus back then.....I think you got a Gender Flag for the class :P.....all women got As and men took the class pass/fail.

I'll bet Tina never asked Ike what he was thinking.

Redtooth

Fins,

If I'm not mistaken......I think she did and that led to many fistacuffs between the two of them.

There was a class called that? When I was in grad school I told my advisor that I was going to take a Womens Studies class and he kind of smiled. I went the first day and found out that one of the things we would be graded on would be a journal where we could write our feelings, draw pictures or write poetry. If we wanted to do an interpretive dance instead, we could schedule an appointment with the prof. I left the class and dropped it immediately! I went back to my advisor to see if he could suggest any (and I mean any) other class and he just laughed! :D

KS wonders if Tina had Ike beaten with a shoe?

KS strat with Ike' signature on it just jumped up in value.  Too bad the Matt Guitar Murphy and Scottie Moore sigs wore off.

KS thinks most Liberal Arts schools have these classes.  At NJCU KS had to take a Cultural Studies class.  I could chose between, Womens Studies, Gay Lesbian Bisexual Issues, African American Studies, Hispanic Studies, Asian Cultures or the one KS took because it killed two birds with one round of birdshot, History of Jazz, Blues and Rock.  It killed the Cultural Studies and Music elective requirements.

I heard nightmares from guys who took Womens Studies.

That is the beauty of Liberal Arts schools! They force you to expand your mind whether you want to or not! ;D

I should clarify that I don't have a problem with Women's Studies, but I don't understand why it can't be taught with an analytical/historical perspective instead of embracing every negative stereotype out there!! :-\ They don't do themselves (or women as a whole) any favors!

It's a big waste of time anyway to play football against any team called "Scots". Unless of course they bring bagpipes. Now that's worth watching.

I'm sure Alma discovered that the Johnnies were 33-0-1 in their last 34 meetings with schools nicknamed the "Scots"--with an average margin of victory of 35.9 points, no less--and just decided it wasn't worth the effort.
