It's a new day! The clouds have parted, the birds are clearing their throats getting ready to sing, and the bars open at 11am. What a great life.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

we are preparing the Lutafisk for the upcoming Christmas weekend.

There is something about lye soaked fish that looks like Jello that just isn't right ???

Your right this isnt the best thing to eat but I tell you what, the Vikings cherrish their traditions.

Tell me about it. My maternal grandmother came over on the boat from Sweden in1896, we always had Lutefisk & Lefse for Christmas dinner as well as Swedish meatballs. I went hungry on most Christmases as a child, or would sneak a PB&J in the kitchen when nobody was looking  ::)

I feel your pain.  I was in the same boat.  Half the family rode the boat over from Norway and my mothers half rode the boat over from Ireland.  So one side of the family was lutefisk and lufse and the other half was boiled potatoes and over cooked pot roasts.  I spent my time at the relish try trying to fill the black hole which was my stomach.

It is times like this that I am glad that my family's traditions are German!;-) Schneeballs (kind of like pie dough with powdered sugar), fondue (a nod to the Alps) and Gluhwein (mulled wine)! Yummy! We would just laugh at the Norwegians and their lutefisk. ;D I am not fond of tangerines, so Saint Nicholas day wasn't quite as fun! ;)

Bennie,

With the german genes in your gene pool you will have large strapping men to help that Johnnie O and D line then won't you?

I have to say that Lutefisk is horrible but good Swedish meatballs are great IMO.

Hey bennie - Have you caught Mike Green from the Caps lately? He's been playing like a cross between Orr and Coffey. (OK That's a little sacreligeous)

I'm going out on a limb hereand predicting UWW by 7.

A little Christmas history lesson that I think you will all appreciate.

Once a long time ago Santa was having labor issues with the Elves.  The Elves staged a walkout a couple of weeks before Christmas and Santa had to hire Angels as replacement workers.  Well that was a hectic year and Santa was running behind schedule.  Finally on Christmas Eve Santa had the toys wrapped and the sleigh loaded and was ready to take off already several hours late.  A little angel ran up to Santa with a Christmas tree and asked Santa where she should put the tree.

And that boys and girls is how the Angel came to be on top of the Christmas tree.

I have not caught any Cap games...most of them are pretty much over by the time I get home! My Jackets are actually doing pretty well. Zherdev's performance so far is a nice little f-you to Doug MacLean! ;)

I think Dusty and I are pretty well wrapped up in this department.

I'd say Duffman would be next in line.  ;)

Wow that surprises me some.  I bet you would make a great mom to a bunch of rowdy boys.  But then with some cruel twist of fate you might have all girlie girls ;D  I don't see that being fun for you taking a whiney girl to a hockey game. ;D ;D
