I think LK will surpass Coach G, eventually.  I hope not but I think so.  I wish we could give Coach G and eternal pill or something.  Many of us, myself especially, do not fully appreciate what we have had and continue to have.  Great game today by Justin Beaver.  Still, I would rather have a Blake Elliot over a Justin Beaver, Brett Elliot, Dan Pugh, Chuck Moore, etc.

It looks to me like UWW came out and punched MUC right in the mouth, so to speak. ;D

Several people I've talked to from Mount don't expect Kehres to stick around long enough to top Gagliardi and is grooming his kid to take over. I mean he is still 200 wins behind. And as long as Gagliardi keeps coaching, Kehres is only going to pick up three or so wins a year on John.

I get home last night and its 2 above, now 16 below, damn.  This would be making some good ice for you Fins.  Again congrats to WW.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

With former NFL quarterback Randy Hedberg out of a job at SCSU any chance Morris Kurtz requests an interview with SJU's Jimmy Gagliardi or Gary Fasching.... maybe Brandon Novak?  Perhaps a promotion for Lance Liepold?

Bite your tongue Dusty...none of the Johnnies assistants would move over to SCSU, nor would SCSU really look at them...plus we would not want to lose any of them...Liepold is a Warhawk alum I think...so I doubt he would want to move on...

I also need to give UWW some props, from the way this Mount team was destroying everyone, I thought for sure they would win...but I am truly glad they didn't...THE WEST IS BEST...at least for this year!

Leave SJU to go to Jan Brady State and coach a d-2 fb team?  D-2 is going to be the new joke of college athletics thanks to the NC00 jug heads who eviscerated the scholarship numbers.  D-2 used to be a great level but now it's only going to be filled with those programs that were average to sub-par to begin with and who did not want to spend $ to go D-1AA.  Hedberg is from my home town and he was a very good offensive coordinator for UND.  He had some real troubles with being a head coach, however, including not having tact and pissing off recruits.  Gearman, Weber, (some running back whose name I forget right now) and a few others were athletes who just did not like how the SCSU program looked.  It's too bad for Hedberg, because he really is a pretty decent guy.  I don't see anyone from SJU going to Jan Brady State.

d-2 used to have some exceptional athletes:  Jamie Pass (Mankato State '93), Jim Kleinsasser/Kleinsausage (UND '98), Phillip Moore (UND '98), Josh Nelsen (Mankato State '94), Tim Tibesar (UND '98), Ronnie Moore (Pittsburgh State '93), Joey Tobin (Pittsburg State '94), Brian Hutchins (Pittsburgh State '94), Arden Beechie (NDSU '93), Heath Rylance (Augustana '94), Jeff Bentrim (NDSU '90), Shannon Burnell (UND '94), John Hebgen (Mankato State '95).

Since the geniuses at the NC00 cut scholarships, one has not seen this caliber of talent in d-2.  The d-2 athletes have been very good but not to the level that once was.  D-2 talent level will now only get worse.

Okay - fb's over - but beer is forever.  Anyone have any of the seasonal brews to recommend?  Or do you guys switch to mulled wine when it gets really cold? ??? ;D

Yes they are. This is the last year of the "initiation" where they are not able to participate in the play-offs. Watch out next year.

It was sweet having them beat the hopeless Gophers this year in Minneapolis. Their squad has a lot of Minnesota kids who were not offered a scholarship at the University of Minnesota. Now with both NDSU & UND along with SDSU & USD are going 1-AA the "braintrust" at the U of M has cut off any hope of getting those kids after years of snubbing them (expecting them to walk on at the U of M). The Gophers have their work cut out for them after 40 years of a crap program & now all the surrounding states have either Division 1 or 1AA programs. I guess they will continue to get 4th or 5th rung kids from Ohio & Florida and tell the media how fortunate they are to have "recruit XYZ coming to the U of M" (if they can get them into any classes). I'll stop ranting now about the joke of a program the U of M has been for my entire life and be happy to cheer for the Johnnies.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

This has been something very interesting to watch.  If I am not mistaken NDSU was not all the great lets say 5 years ago.  What I mean by not great is that they were not contending for the d2 national title year in and year out.  They were one uped by the Grand Valley State, and NW Missouri State.  (Note they blew it when they had Valdosta on the ropes).  The reason that I am saying this is that I spent a year in the NSIC and that was the year the NSDU announced that they were follwing suit with N. Colorado and going 1AA.  Everyone I talked to was some what skeptical on wheather they could hold their own.  Growing up in the state of IA one could not help but follow the progression of UNI and their rise to a top team in 1AA.  I never thought that NDSU would be able to hang with them and its obvious they are on this level now.  I would like to know what they put into the kool-aid to make this transition and make this transition go very well.  On a side note, I do not know if we will see the same results for the USD.  Anyone have any insight into how they made this change happen so well?

BTW you MIAC boys are a little slow today.  Im used to having to ready 4 pages before I can even start to chime in.

How many posts does it take to make the next level.  Is that all region?  I am gunning for all american status by the end of next football season.

Agree about how D2 has fallen in recent years. The NCC used to be the best d2 conference in the nation, but with NDSU, SDSU, and Northern Colorado leaving - and with UND and USD to follow - it's obviously been decimated, from football to women's basketball.

Still, they must still be getting pretty good players at the D2 schools in the midwest considering a 4-7 SCSU team handled Whitewater by 10 points.

What exactly is this "karma" business?  I presume it's rating one's posts/popularity or something, right?  How is it done?  Just curious.  Thanks.
