+k for that dedication.  I have been trying to get a trip planned to head up around the Hackensack area but everyone is telling me the ice is a bit suspect and the permanite shacks are few and far between this year due to poor ice conditions.  Not a good thing if your considering hiding out in the shack after Christmas dinner and hiding from the family ;)

I don't think it's as bad as some people are making it out to be.  I was on a Minneapolis area lake on Monday and there was 8 inches of good ice with 4-wheelers all over.  There's more ice north of here.  I know they're plowing roads on Upper Red.

A tradition unrivaled...

Same around here (detroit lakes) Duff! 12+ inches of ice. I haven't heard of any one having problems. We made a lot of ice prior to getting any measurable snow!
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

BTW is anyone catching any fish, or spearing any fish.  Would like to hear about some nice walleye or pikes being flopped on the floor of the shanty.  Lets just hope they did not spill the Hamms/Grainbelt ;D

I was out Saturday and Monday.  Saturday I picked up two measly walleyes and Monday just a little pike.  Almost had heart attacks both days from trudging through the snow and slush.

Read the WIAC board for your humor today.

QuoteAnother true story.  One of my all time favorite player interviews was with a Stout player several years ago.  When I noticed his major was "Packaging", I asked him what he planned on doing with his degree when he graduated.  He replied, "Package, I guess."

Packaging?  OMG. :o

Please forgive me if I'm stating the obvious here but, isn't Stout a Poly-Tech University? It would make sense that they would have degrees in Cardboard Packaging. Wisconsin is the home to many large paper & cardboard plants. Somebody had to design that box your Wheaties you had for breakfast  came in. Perhaps the greatest contribution a UW-Stout Packaging Major has given to MIACPP ,and may I add the entire free world, was the package design for the Hamm's 30-pack. Prior to this one could only enjoy their Hamm's in a 24-can case.  ;)

Are you trying to seduce us, Mrs. Robinson?

+k's around as the X-Mas letter I wrote has Hamm's beer in the first sentence.  :D

DUFF YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT.

Mille Lacs right now is very iffy. 12-15'' in most of the bays with some truck traffic and anywhere from 5-10'' out on the main lake.  Nothing but sled and wheeler traffice on the main lake with wheeler's having a tough time due to the snow.  Ther are also lots of slush pockets all over.

VOJ

I went over the WIAC board and made mention  of the fact that if  the J's had not had a couple of Defensive/Special teams breakdowns UWEC might not have made the playoffs and had they made it, their season would have ended in C'ville where they have lost before...now am taking some hits on the K...bunch of WIAC haters...

stanbob

one back for you voj.  i got it over there last night criticizing booboo again.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

I also noticed that they decided that SJU couldn't have made the playoffs with UWEC's schedule and QB woes. Funny thing, at SJU far more than three guys would have to get hurt before we run out of competent QBs...
Nice day, huh?

Dammit. I read the MIAC board before the WIAC one this visit and posted this before seeing that VOJ already made that point over there. Oops.

I dunno, some have argued that, even without any injuries at the position, St. John's still failed to play a competent QB.

Lots of permanants out on Minnetonka.  I tried to get out last Sunday but the auger crapped out.  It wasn't tough to convince my old man to buy himself a new auger for Christmas.  The new plan is to be out at 6:00 Sunday morning and to have the first crappie on the ice by 6:02.

To those worried about fishing interfering with their drinking, isn't that why tip-ups were invented?
