I really enjoyed the Sabers/Penguins hockey game in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

I want to hear the opinions of some real hockey experts who saw it.

Thanks.  :)

While we are waiting for the experts to weigh in, I will give you my thoughts on the game. I thought it was a lot of fun. Gary Bettman probably wet himself with joy when Sid the Kid scored to win the shootout! I kind of feel bad about how much pressure has been put on Sidney to be the face of the NHL. The Ryan Miller trash talking commercial was quite funny. I called my dad and laughed about what a big deal they were making about the temps. What Johnnie fan hasn't sat out in below freezing temps to watch a sporting event? 8) My dad pointed out that he can remember high school hockey games being played outdoors at night up on da Range. Yowza! :o I had a friend call and inform me that if they ever do an outdoor game on the West coast we are going. After I got done laughing so hard I nearly fell off the couch I asked them where exactly on the West coast is there a team that plays in a city that gets cold enough to host an outdoor game! After a moment of silence I was informed "nevermind". :D
When I was at St. John's all of our home hockey games were outside. I had a ringside seat from a third floor window in the old science building. John was coach. Kinda dates me.  :D

I was working all day on Tuesday and only turned the game on during the shootout.  What a blast of a game!

They did a game outdoors on Lake of the Woods last year that seemed pretty fun to be a part of (LW-Baudette vs. St. Paul Johnson H.S.) and fun to watch on FSN as part of Hockey Day in Minnesota.  RT, Lake of the Woods is that lake that forms that jut-out on the north of Minnesota and is the Northernmost point of the continental U.S.

I would love to see them do a doubleheader outdoors on Lake Sagatagan, with the Johnnie-Tommie hockey game followed by the Bennie-Tommie hockey game.  That would be fun!  Can you imagine watching a hockey game with the Stella Maris in the background?  Duff, you can even icefish during the intermissions. If it was pitched to FSN (paging Mr. LaPanta and Mr. Gorg), I can pretty much guarantee they would make it an event.

Outdoor hockey + beer + ice fishing = Winter wet dreaming on the MIAC PP.

Major props to PC & D3 Football on reaching 25M. Before D3, my only reconnect to D3 (especially Johnnie) Football was the scores in the Sunday newspaper and an occasional Newsletter. I would never met any of the posters who I hope are all my friends (even the phantom smiters who need all the friends they can get).
GO D3 Football
BTW: JohnnieFootball is a great addition. :)

Count me as one, 57.  :)

Speaking of outdoor hockey, son of BDB's hockey squad practiced on outdoor ice last night. It was -12 at the time.

The kids stayed warm. I froze.  :D

Kilted Rat

Well, the day is finally here... when proud Iowegians and those currently living in Iowa get to do what we've been waiting to do since 2004:

Rock Out With Our Caucus Out!  :o

I will be taking pictures of my caucus, if you would like to see them, please PM me for more details!

New Contest: Best use of Caucus in the sentence! Winner gets +k from me as soon as I can +k you again!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I noticed an break in the seal around one of my windows yesterday when it was cold and windy. I called a handiman to help me out. He came over and asked what he could do for us, to which I replied, "Caulk us."

When the Tommie girl asks if she can play with our caucus guys readily pull down our jock.  ;D

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

It's 2008 and we have an election
To the choices I'd give my total rejection
Politicians in general do not have a brain
For example I give you that fool John McCain
Huckabee acts devout, a winning technique
Just what we need, a slick Jesus freak
In my post box I received a Rudy G mailer
That guy's had more marriages than Elizabeth Taylor
Hillary Clinton does well with the press
Except one should ask about that stain on her dress
John Edwards is prissy and a little bit square
Not even Katrina could mess up his hair
Barack went to Oxy, so for us there is hope
I'm putting my trust in a guy who smokes dope
On New Year's I partied to the Roman god Bacchus
In advance of exhilarating Iowa caucus
The party I went to was rowdy and raucous
Not an irrelevant bore like an Iowa caucus
I feel duty bound to go cast my vote
But I woke up today with a stinging sore throat
So I'm stuck in my bed with bad streptococcus
And I can't leave to go to my Iowa caucus

Fantastic poem!

Great work also by Fins, BDB, Retagent, TC, and Flash! Everyone wins +k because I'm taking the Chicago route and voting multiple times, once for everyone!
