The cheeseheads are back doing the "How would SJU do in the WIAC?" exercise again.  Since they finally beat MUC, the Raiders have been tossed into the mix.

It has the feel of a Star Trek convention...

"There's no way the Romulans could stand up to a Klingon in a fair fight *snigger snigger*"

Actually, it all began with beating the dead horse that is the discussion regarding scheduling non-conf. opponents.  UWW is sitting with all three dates open last I heard.  It was a Johnnie poster that did a drive by and accused the Hawks fans of being full of themselves.  That's how the MIAC got brought into the mix.   SJU is one of the teams that are still willing to play WIAC teams, (and considering the season that UWRF and UWEC had, they could offer more of a game to the Johnnies in the future,) so as far as I am concerned, a discussion on this subject shouldn't necessarily be directed at them.  Frankly, I am just enjoying seeing the board light up again after the down time.  I have been suffering serious withdrawal after the Stagg.   ;D
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

"Three things you don't want to be in football, slow, small and friendly!"  John Madden

"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in
life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

More groaners for tmerton...

Q: What's red and shaped like a bucket?
A: A red bucket.

Q: What's green and fuzzy and if it fell out of a tree would kill you?
A: A pool table.

Q: What do a plum and an elephant have in common?
A: They're both purple, except for the elephant.

Q: What do you do to an elephant with three balls?
A: Walk him and pitch to the rhinoceros!

Q: What's green and has wheels?
A: Grass. I lied about the wheels.

Q: How do you know when it's time to wash dishes and clean the house?
A: Look inside your pants; if you have a penis, it's not time.

Ahem ... don't you have some work to do on Johnniefootball.com?

Joining in ...

A man appeared before St. Peter at the pearly gates. 'Have you ever done anything of particular merit?' St. Peter asked.

'Well, I can think of one thing,' the man offered. 'Once, on a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers who were attacking a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.

So I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smacked him in his face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring and threw it on the ground. Then I yelled, 'Now back off or I'll kick the snot out of all of you!'

St. Peter was impressed ...'When did this happen?'

'Just a couple minutes ago...'

A man kills a deer and takes it home to cook for dinner.

Both he and his wife decide that they won't tell the kids what kind of meat it is, but will give them a clue and let them guess.

The kids were eager to know what the meat was on their plates, so they begged their dad for the clue.

"Well," he said, "It's what mommy calls me sometimes."

The little girl screams to her brother, "Don't eat it, it's an asshole!"

Correctomundo, my friend. Your innocent post of a repeat notwithstanding, at least you, KR, and Mr.shoes to a lesser extent, know how to follow directions.
These other jokers on here have gone astray with their posting from sheep, elephant, Tommie, biker and kiwi categories.

;) heh,heh, good stuff fellas

I saw the movie "Kite Runner" yeasterday, too much of a maudlin character study meant to play on your emotions for me, but the highlight was the Hamms signs in a San Fran bar where the Afghani father takes his son to celebrate after he graduates from Community College.

HOCKEY NEWS:

In Kenosha, WI the unified high school team coached by Steve Carlson (one of the Hanson brothers) is at .500. They had been miserable for many years, but he seems to have brought some respect and discipline to their game. No foiling yet.

bennie - I hope you were similarly disappointed by the Caps/Avs last night. The Caps, interestingly enough, are now coached by Bruce Boudreau, who had a part as one of the opponents of the Johnstown Chiefs in "Slapshot". I told you earlier about Mike Green, I hope you noticed his mad skills.

More hockey news:

Wild sold today to former Predators owner Craig Liepold.

Good for us...Liepold was a great owner for the Preds, so hopefully we can see Lord Stanley take up residence in this state once in my lifetime!

Agreed fins. Nice job retagent! +k

In non-hockey news, our buddy Coach Todd has left Hamline and is going D-1 on us.

He rejoins former Stout coach Ed Meierkort at the University of South Dakota as the assistant Head Coach.

Todd told me last night that when SJU played Hamline this year he went looking for the Stiftungfestivities crowd and was disappointed to hear they were all down at Gabe's in the Park!  :D

I did not get a chance to watch the Caps last night. Two to one isn't nearly as embarassing as six to one. :-[ There are so many games tonight that I don't know which one(s) I will watch!

So does anyone else watch Pros vs Joes? The new season starts on Jan 24th. American Gladiators??? Please, I would rather watch 'roided out former pro athletes than 'roided out gym rats! :D

Putting us back in our boxes like that was just classless.  Oh... right.  Never mind.

Congrats to Todd!  Although I was hoping he'd end up with the reigns at UST ;)
