I hate (not really) to interupt all this drivel with football news, but this should be a very good thing for the Johnnies.  ;D

I don't have time to do a full investigation, but if Duff's sold so am I.

He's listed at 5-11, 210.  I've also seen him mentioned at HB, FB, CB, S, and LB.  Any idea where he might play at St. John's?

I haven't seen him play much but I have connections that have ;)  He's a phenomenal athlete.  FB sounds good to me.  I think we may be fortunate that he was injured last year, or I think he'd be going elsewhere.

Looks like he picked SJU over SMSU and SCSU.  You know they were throwing atleast some amount of money at him.  Good score for the Johnnies!

bennie - I won't spoil the Caps/Jackets game if you have isolated yourself well enough so that you haven't learned the outcome, and have it TIVO'd. My memory says that's what you had planned. I'm too lazy to scroll back to make sure my memory is correct. It's worth watching even if you do know the score. Very entertaining.

It's impressive that he received much interest at all.  He was hurt in the first game of the season and couldn't play the rest of the year.

He must be pretty good if he's from Sartell - right?  :P

Can anything good come out of Sartell? ;D

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Duff,

Do you mean "traditional" FB as in blocking & catching passes out of the backfield or the SJU FB which is really a tailback? Is he Aaron Krych or Chris Moore? I'm confused ???

Did looking at a certain Sartell Asst. Coaches 2003 Championship Ring up close help with his decision?  ;D

Wonderful article in the local rag about JJR's heart throb.

Sample:
QuoteDoes anything embarrass her? "No." Is there anything she wants to do but hasn't? "Everything that I want to do I've done." If she could buy a time machine with all her billions, what advice would she offer herself before all this insanity kicked in? "None. I think I've handled everything very well."

I assume JJR will be first in line for The Hottie and the Nottie.  If she knew the size of her fandom in central MN, I bet she'd be holding the premiere in Collegeville instead of LA.  And how could she say she's already done everything she wants to if she's never been to the Stiftungfestivities? ???

Ooops - forgot to include a pic (what was I thinking?):

Now that NLOI day is finished, it looks like someone in the MIAC might be able to pick up an offensive lineman.

As many of you might have read by now, in an apparent effort to craft a sequel to Dumb and Dumber, a young man from Nevada actually pretended to have been offered scholarships by Cal, Oregon (bennie!!!) and other teams, then subsequently claimed to have been the victim of a hoax - only to eventually admit that he made it all up himself.  [Question - shouldn't the parents or (especially) his coach have sniffed this out before the kid held his press conference?  Clearly none of these schools ever contacted the parents or coach during this charade.]

Best comment (also from today's local rag): "And like so many teenagers' plans, it lacked sufficient consideration of the endgame."

QuoteRENO, Nev. -- A northern Nevada prep football player who had claimed he was duped into believing he was recruited to play at a Pac-10 school admitted Wednesday he made up the story.Kevin Hart, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman for Fernley High School, offered a broad apology in a statement he issued through the Lyon County School District. Hart said he had wanted to play football at a Division I school "more than anything."

"When I realized that wasn't going to happen, I made up what I wanted to be reality. I am sorry for disappointing and embarrassing my family, coaches, Fernley High School, the involved universities and reporters covering the story," Hart said.

I heard about that on the radio this morning.  What a ridiculous situation.  How could that even happen.  Wouldn't the kid's parents and coaches realize something was up being that they'd never heard from any of the college recruiters?  And what about an official visit?  It all sounds fishy to me.
