Anyone know if the Gophers will be back in Collegeville next fall?

I seem to remember Brewster being quoted last summer as saying that the camp at SJU was such a good experience that they would definitely repeat it this year.  But who knows, SJU may have given away all the dorm space to a bunch of Chinese choral groups or an Egyptian frisbee league.

Being an part of Hawkeye nation and a Hawkeye faithful, I seen Coach F. bring in a top 20 recruiting class only to do nothing with it.  You point regarding acceptance into the school.  Great point!  Most of those top tier players did not make the cut at the U of I.  Sad to say that just because you have some stars by your name does not mean you will make an impact on gridiron.

Too bad Michigan didn't take him off your hands, then.

I've not heard of Big 10/11 teams having problems with kids being academically ineligible - I thought that was primarily a southern/SEC issue.  Especially since, unlike the SEC, the conference limits the number of LOIs that conference members may give in a year.  Does Iowa bring in a lot of JC kids?

You never know, tmert. I worked a couple of summers at SJU. One screamin' hot August night we iced and spiked a watermelon at non-air conditioned Frank House. A "campus visitor" stopped by and was begging for a piece.

He didn't know it was spiked, but we knew the only group on campus was an AA convention.

Iowa is typically good for a few JC kids a year.  They signed a RB out of Coffeeville CC this fall that is supposed to make an impact this season.  The best makers to date such as Brad Banks, Nathan Chandler (he was a solid decision maker), CJ Jones and company were all JC transfers.

However they do typically look to the high schools first to get their talent.  They need help at the RB and WR positions so that is why you saw them go after this RB.

In regards to him leaving for Mich. I would hate to see him go because I do not know who we would get.  Iowa has seen a lot of off the field issues in the last 18 months which is unchartecteristic of the program.  Lets just hope Capt. Kurt gets the ship righted and on our way back into contetion, or atleast in the top 5 that is.

Hi fellas, and Bennie ;)
Been busier than BDB when the powerball hits a billion, so haven't posted in a while.
As you can see, I have managed to kill a little time out in the gee-rodge.

Aloha from Hawaii.  Here for the Pro Bowl.  Cant find any Hamm's anywhere.  Went to the AFC  practice, very laid back.  Pretty cool to see the big guys up close though.  It is amazing how much they can drink.  Saw three johnnies, wearing SJU tee shirts on the beach, they were having drinks out of giant pineapples and were fried like bacon!  They were having quite a good time.

snoopy,

I hadn't seen anything from you for a few days, so I was hoping you had given up posting for Lent. ;)

Considering your choice of games, you should have given up football instead. :D

Well, it is an excuse to go to Hawaii. 8)

A friend of mine fell asleep lying on his back on the nude beach on O'ahu's north shore.  When he awakened, he was cooked!

He walked around rather carefully for a week!   :D
