Really enjoyed the bits of Hockey Day in Minny that was on FSN today, brought back memories of the days when all icetime was outside icetime -- not driving an hour for that 5 a.m. time slot ....

It was -27 windchill for the opener on Baudette Bay and -42 for the second game. Not a lot of folks in the stands but you could watch from a bridge and the local VFW, where a bunch of former Olympians holed up. Looked like a nice spot for a Hamms . . . but then what isn't?

GF........I got my ashes and I'm giving up responding to your posts for Lent.  Having a ball in Ohau, no ', and partying with friends.  My tickets are on the 50 courtesy of the GB PACKERS and get to watch my youngest perform at half time.  Mai tai baby! ;) ;)

TDT.....here I come.

A friend of mine fell asleep lying on his back on the nude beach on O'ahu's north shore.

Wait, did you really spell Oahu with an apostrophe? O'brother.
O'xyBob
Yes, the correct way to spell O'ahu is with the apostrophe that designates the glottal stop between the two vowels.

;)

Talk like a kama aina! Me one akamai haole!  ;D

I think that's the Irish spelling of Oahu, or as Ted Kennedy pronounced Barako Bama the other day when introducing him.

The Gophers, as a team, probably have the same number of goals as I did individually in my last season playing with the Oldtimers.

I didnt meant to start a spelling bee however, in todays paper O'ahu is spelled with the ' actually being an upside down comma.  Or was tthat just the way I read it after many mai tai's. :D

That is worth the trip.  Don't forget to wear your hat, or you might fry your brain.

Football-wise, I would rather be on the 50 for a game at St. John's, Redlands or Gustavus Adolphus. ;)

GF,  currently a  pedantic, didactic, persnickety haole from Texas.  :P

GF......Agreed as to the football game.  They are talking about moving the game next year to another location and to the week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.

My tickets were a present from an old friend at GB and mileage points are a wonderful thing so....what the hell, who cares about the game itself, it's in Hawai'i<as spelled by the locals and a drunk from So. Ca.l> ;)

With the windchills and temps the way they are in my neck of the woods today...I would watch just about anything from the 50 in Hawaii.

Speaking of weather, over on the IIAC board one of the posters lives in San Diego.  On Groundhog Day he went out to pick up his paper in his bare feet.  He had to go back inside to get his flip-flops.  So he knew there were still six more weeks of winter. ;D

I would not call you nuts, maybe just a lover of the 4 seasons!
