Kiss your Thursday goodbye ...  Fire away!

My initial score: 82,200 (should be easy to beat).

KS was just checking out the VFW website and found this news article. The National Commander in Chief of the VFW has condemned the City of Berkely CA regarding their treatment of the Marine recruiting station.  They even give the phone numbers, addresses and email addresses of the city council members.  Anyone who thinks their actions are deplorable are encouraged to let them know how they feel.

Thank  you
Michael Dougherty
Commander VFW Secaucus Memorial Post 3776.

Berkeley is, uh, an acquired taste.  The City Council did back down from their intial "unwelcome intruders (but don't forget to save our asses if we need it)" letter a week later - See! .

Even so, the politicians there are mostly detached from reality.  Almost 30 years ago I was among a group of graduate students who tried to set up a child care center in a church there - and you would have thought we were trying to dump toxic waste on the streets.  We had two things going against us from the start - it involved young children (Berekely is not kid friendly) and affiliation with a church (ditto).  Among those who came to the hearing to complain was a student in a nearby apartment who stayed up all night (not for work - he didn't have a job) and slept during the day - so he was concerned that young children would have to be let outside where they would make noise and disturb him. :o  When we were finally approved, the City seemed almost disappointed.

+k for the game. I was 30 something K after 5 or 6 so probably about the same as you. Great fun but too long although I got better as I started to figure things out.

I've got a question. Is it my satellite system, or is the volume on FSN North lower than all other channels? Every time I go there, I have to crank it up.
I watch the Pac-10 games on FSN West, and I find it hard to understand the announcers.

"La Universidad de California, Los Ángeles es el mejor equipo de baloncesto de la universidad del país." You must have pressed the SAP button by mistake. Press it again.

You are correct.  I had it pushed so I could listen to a soccer game in English. :-[

This has got to be the cheerleaders for an MIAC team but which one?
Maybe it's the TDT quartet. ;D

Well not knowing the MIAC schools all that well I don't think it is SJU because I didn't see Cheerleaders for them at the games in Pella.  Might be the dreaded Tommies thow they did have Cheerleaders but didn't get all that of a good look at them last year in the cities.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nothing beats the old Putt Putt minature golf game.  It must still be around someplace.

Edit: Ah, found it - it's actually "Mini-Putt"

If anyone is looking for a sweet, waste your time game.  I would prefer going to orbitzgames.com and playing bean bag toss.  If you win in one city, you advance to the next.  It's gets exciting then addicting.

John Cleese's "Letter to America" is worth the read.

Everyone move to Kansas!

re: snopes.com

Who arbitrarily declared snopes.com official source of dogmatic proclamations on which urban legends are real or not?

This is kind of like John Madden being declared the unofficial "best announcer" in football despite an obvious lack of talent, insight or originality. BOOM! Tough actin tinactin!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

OB is sort of the unofficial SCIAC/d3football curmudgeon, and he has a very bad day if he sees a balloon he can't let the air out of.  Unless it's orange and black.

+k for the weekend, folks.  Stay warm and dry.
