So TDT hasn't been posting much. Must have plenty to keep him busy.

I think the Caps bigger pickup is Huet. Olie has gone downhill rapidly, although he played one of his two good games of the year tonight, I think he may call it a career after this year. Brooks Laich, you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him. Chris Bourque, Ray's kid, played his first NHL game tonight with the Caps. Looks like he's got some speed.

Well, China Beach is a lovely place (as, I believe, tmerton mentioned).  Although a bit overcast today, it's not at all like Apocalypse Now (Duh, obviously nothing is like it was in that movie, but still).

Is the name of the location actually "China Beach" or does it have another name?

It will not be a problem to start the Stiftungsfestivities early when the boys from Texas come to town. Some of us usually show up around 8:00 a.m. We can easily have the coals going by 9:00 a.m.

Well, I got to hold court yesterday in Chaska for the first time since I have been on the bench. Always nice to get back to my home county of Carver. I was given the criminal calendar. As luck would have it, one of the defendants appearing before me had the same name as mine. I was clear on the record that other than both being Irish, there was no other connection between us. He was actually from the same town I grew up in, Norwood Young America.

Since we're playing the Tigers, we could just have Frosted Flakes-they're g-r-r-r-r-eat!

Are you assuming facts not in evidence.  How do you know he is Irish he could have been adopted so that your heritage does not have a stain on it.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

LaCrosse plays their home games at Winona this year. They play Hardin-Simmons on Sept. 6 at 7pm.  Hmmm..... developing?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Does it smell like Victory?  ???

Oh no. That would be the aroma of JR's burgers at Stiftungfestivities.  8)

You mean the burgers smell like Napalm?

Speaking of ROR ... has there been a sighting lately?

First we have finsleft, our beloved Mayor of the MIACPP.

Then we have Art Madrid, Mayor of La Mesa CA. who was found passed out on a city street in a pool of his own vomit.

Then we have the Mayor of a small town in Oregon recalled because she posted pictures of herself in her underwear on the internet.

While it's close between Mayor fins and the female underwear Mayor, I think we should stick with fins.  8)

You'll find me in a pool of my vomit if Fins posts any pictures of himself in his underwear!
