I'll ask a football question.  Can't see the Johnnies going anywhere without a good QB.  So, who is the good QB going to be out of this bunch?  I count ten underclass QB's on last years roster, 9 of which are Freshmen or Sophomores.

Of the bunch, Joe Boyle is by far the best field general in the group however TC is correct... look for a wild card to enter the fray next fall and challenge.

Boyle is a couple inches taller than Hanzel, which I think is good.  Anybody know anything about Luke Radel?  He's a Senior and I like his size.  Also, Radel to Buzak?  Both went to Redwood Valley.

Nothing like some honest to God Johnnie football talk to bring DustySJU out of hiding! I had to sign in just to spread some karma around. I am going to have to wait for later with some of you ... darn 24 hour rule. Then again, that is probably the only thing keeping me from being smited into negative numbers again. ;)

One summer I worked at St. Ben's. The highlight, no bouncers at the bars and bartenders that never carded me (I was 20). The lowlight, a roommate that loved Dirty Dancing and made all of us watch it repeatedly. That was enough to drive me to drink! ;D

Oz will like this one ...

A major International company was looking to hire someone for an important position, so they interviewed dozens of applicants and narrowed their search down to three people from different parts of the world.  In an attempt to pick one of them, they decided to give them all the same question to answer within 24 hours, and the one with the best answer would get the job.

The question was:

A man and a woman are in bed, nude. The woman is lying on her side with her back facing the man, and the man is lying on his side facing the woman's back.

What is the man's name?

After the 24 hours was up, the three were brought in to give their answers.

The first, from Canada, says "My answer is, there IS no answer."

The second, from New Zealand, says  "My answer is that there is no way to determine the answer with the information we were given."

The third one, from Australia, says "I'm not exactly sure, but I have it narrowed down to two names.

"It's either: Willie Turner or Willie Naylor."

The Australian got the job...

Golf joke du jour:

Police are called to an apartment and find a woman holding a bloody 5-iron standing over a lifeless man.
The detective asks, "Ma'am, is that your husband?"
"Yes," says the woman
"Did you hit him with that golf club?"
"Yes, yes, I did." The woman begins to sob, drops the club, and puts her, hands on her face.
"How many times did you hit him?"
"I don't know, five, six, maybe seven times.....just put me down for a five."

I'll drink to that.

Patrick Swayze speaking through Whoopi Goldberg... I think they called it "Ghost".

(for TC -  :P)

Thanks for the emoticon, Dusty.  I just died a little inside.

You've been pimping Boyle, Esq has had nothing but nice things to say about Crees, and Hansel is local--hard to understate that advantage.  And now there's talk of a wildcard entering the fray?!?!  Wow, should be an interesting and drama-filled fall in 56321.

Maybe we could petition for another year of eligibility for Kofoed.  That's one solution that I'm sure would make everyone happy.  Or they could just pick some random kid off of the basketball court--that's how they won their last national championship, afterall.

---

Who does everyone like in the AA hockey tournament?  Since we'll likely only have one year to enjoy the Aaron Ness-y goodness at the U, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon a little early.  Go Roseau!  Blaine was my pick-to-click until they drew the Rams in the first round.  An acquaintance of an acquaintance coaches at Benilde, so I wouldn't mind seeing them win, and the free cake at Lund's and Byerly's throughout the southwest metro if Edina wins would be nice.

No comment on the loss by Little Falls or the win by Cathedral?  With St. Thomas Academy (and Duluth Marshall and Warroad) in the bracket, maybe it's best to not invest much thought in either team's chances.

---

I've only been ice fishing 3 times this winter.  That is only slightly less pathetic than the fact that, in those three trips, I have total 1 three inch perch.  That is all going to change this weekend when I destroy the crappies at the cabin on Friday before competing in the Blue Goose Inn softball tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Is it Friday yet?

Anyone watching Brett Fav-ray weeping on TV right now?  It's like watching Fins talk about his luck deer hunting.

Hope you will be watching the Av/Duck game tonight. I have to miss at least the first two periods.
The good Lord willing, I'll be in Denver tomorrow and have meeting Saturday all day so will miss the Dallas game.  >:(  Have to plan my trips to D a little better.  :P

Fins, I have never met you, but somehow think you will drink to just about anything.  Wait, that goes for just about everyone on this board.

I'll drink to that.

I am definitely going to watch the Avs/Duck game!

On Sunday, the Caps/Pens game is at 12:30am ET...that would be 9:30am PT. With daylight savings "Spring back", it will really be 8:30am as far as I'm concerned. Hockey just shouldn't be played that early in the morning!! 8)

Well the SJU opener starts at 11 a.m., which is 9 a.m. your time, which is really 8 a.m. standard time. That's even earlier!

But, is Jimmy Buffett might say, " It's 9 o'clock somewhere."  8)
