repete - I was livid at the refs in that game. I'm not saying that Brash shouldn't have gotten 6:00, which of itself is highly unusual, but they could have given 2:00 to the dick who came up after he was called for the double minor, which was not malicious, just trying to lift the stick and missed. It happens every game. There was no need for him to bump Brasher, and he had been instigating stuff all night, so he deserved the shot in the mouth. They normally will give an offsetting roughing in that case. Then they call two phantom penalties on Erskine and then Poti. How often do you see 10:00 given to one team in the last 6:00 minutes of a game, without the opposing team getting something. OH! I'm sorry, they did get an :18 second penalty after it had been decided. Worst case of officiating determining the outcome I've seen in a long time.

On  a lighter note, Was I prescient or what with my pick(s) in the MSHSL Hockey Tourney a few pages back? I haven't been on after hurting my arm patting myself on the back.

You could tell the tourists from the people who live and work in NYC everyday.  The tourists stopped and looked and were looking around.  The New Yorkers just glanced and kept walking like it was nothing strange.  Pretty funny though. 

Another way to mess with tourists in NYC is to walk staring up at the sky and pointing.

Something similar, wasn't up quite as high in the air, happened to me in college.  Went up high on a lay up on the right side of the hoop, a defender got knocked backwards and to the floor directly in front of me as I was going up.  I stepped on his collar bone area on my way up and instinctivly pushed off pushed of it.  As I pushed off my foot slid off his shoulder and I landed on the side of my ankle and it buckled like folding a piece of paper. Tore the ligaments in my left ankle.

When it swells up on me now, I pull out the game film and watch it and then have a six pack or two to forget.  Oh the joys of getting old.  

Anyone remember the Joe Thiesman (sp?) video where he broke his leg?  Talk about gruesome.

Nothing like some honest to God Johnnie football talk to bring DustySJU out of hiding! I had to sign in just to spread some karma around. I am going to have to wait for later with some of you ... darn 24 hour rule. Then again, that is probably the only thing keeping me from being smited into negative numbers again.

One summer I worked at St. Ben's. The highlight, no bouncers at the bars and bartenders that never carded me (I was 20). The lowlight, a roommate that loved Dirty Dancing and made all of us watch it repeatedly. That was enough to drive me to drink!

Like you Johnnie Fans really need an excuse to drink!

After this past season we all needed an extra drink.... all I can say is Bennie if we're lucky enough to sipping Jagermeister with you again it'll be a fine 2008!

Can I just comment that I think it would be a very good idea for all these middle-aged and older men trolling the bars of Asia for 'professional' companionship should take a second to think what their daughters lives would be like if they were in the 'professionals' shoes.  And if these men don't have daughters, then they should get some.  I was in the Navy, so I'm no fool, but when the girls you are, ahem, talking to are as old as your daughter maybe a second thought should be thought.  Just saying - it's an issue that grates on me from time to time (As I have three young daughters, I guess).
