Time to go to the bar.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Flash, you've truly outdone yourself. As your mayor, I hereby proclaim you poster of the day, week and month. (I'm holding out on year to see if TDT shows back up)

Keep 'em coming, I'm LOL

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jon Hassler (SJU `55) and his family. Jon passed away this morning.

Ditto-just got the note from SJU. Jon was a real asset to the SJU community and a fine author.

Before anyone asks, I am on vacation right now and I have not been to Germany since spring 2003.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

My favorite was the duck hunting one.  Could always picture my brother in law out with that bunch. ;D  Heck, I think I read every one of his books and liked 'em all.

Highly recommended:

Available at: U of Minn Press

Originally commissioned to commemorate Minnesota's centennial in 1958 and out of print for nearly forty years, The Face of Minnesota is a lost masterpiece of photography and an eloquent tribute to the people and places of the North Star state. Republished in celebration of the state's sesquicentennial, this beautifully produced edition includes contemporary essays about John Szarkowski's impact on American photography and introduces his work to new generations of Minnesotans.

"John Szarkowski is the single most important curator that photography has ever had. Looking at his photographs created over the last fifty years makes me want to weep. They are truly American pictures; one feels his desire to show not just what America was but what it still can be." —Ingrid Sischy, Vanity Fair, 2005

We saw an exhibition of Szarkowski's photographs at the Museum of Modern Art when we were in NYC in January, some of which are in this book.  I located a half decent used copy of the original edition, but this new edition is terrific.  (Don't tell the folks at UMinn Press, but there's a 35% discount at Amazon.)
