I think everyone acted appropriately when it happened. The elbow was a penalty, but I don't think it was a vicious hit, just unlucky. It appeared that the Gopher players realized that and didn't over react. I also read where the kid that hit him is pretty broken up about it, and has gone to visit Tom.

retagent, the guys on KFAN today agreed with your take that the MSU kid's hit wasn't that vicious.

When I saw it live it looked like a classic cheap shot, but I may be biased. 

Anyway, the good news is he went home today from the hospital and Lucia said the doctors thought he could be with the team next weekend if they are still playing.

I am guessing in street clothes, he didn't really say.

That Mankato series was unreal. I think after 3 games and all that OT, the shots were 121-119.

I was lucky enough to see the games on cable and also enjoyed that state prep hockey feature, although I thought the great I Falls teams got a little of the short shrift.
