I have never been a big Patrick Roy fan and this doesn't help!

I am not a big fan of fighting, but I know it has it's place. What Junior did here has no place in hockey. Truely a case of beating down an unwilling combatant.

High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

Since fishing is a big topic on this board have any of you guys fished or caught stripers(striped bass)?  Spent the holiday at Lake Havasu AZ, and the Colorado river, boating, chilling with beer, no Hamms though, and catching stripers.  Great fighting fish, especially on light gear.  If you havn't tried it you should.

New views from my deck are.............developing.

Snoop I have spent some time in Lake Havasu myself.  I am pretty partial to the place and have not been down there in a couple of years.  I personally enjoy spending time in Copper Canyon and eating Mudsharks pizza.  That is some the best stuff I have ever had.  Kokomo's is a decent little spot as well.

I wasn't a fan of St. Patrick when he was an Av.  :-\ Arrogant A$$
Son gave up 3 goals in 20 minutes. I thought suspension would HELP the team but the other 2 goalies gave up 3 & 4.  ;D
I never heard of this happening when one of the goalies stayed in his crease.

I have never fished for stripers, but it's on my list of things to do in this lifetime.

22 days till Duff heads to Lake of the Woods on an annual Lake Sturgeon quest.  Can't wait!!!

Chris Osgood became a major hero in Detroit when, during an 'everybody brawl', Roy skated out and challenged him.  Osgood beat the snot out of him! ;D

Obviously, some guys are very slow learners! ;)

BTW, Osgood accepted the challenge and met him at mid-ice.  Going to the other guy's crease would seem to me to warrant a whole lot more than 7 games!

KLOP....Mudsharks pizza is great, never heard of Kokomo's, where and what is it?

If I can ever figure how to get the photos from my camera to the board, I'll have a new view for fins :D

TMerts,

The ice is slowly receeding and I'm awakening from my partial fishing-hibernation.

(as always, click to embiggen)

Good to see it, Duff.  One pic a week should about do it.  +k

Kokomo's is the bar down by the docks.  Its about underneath the London Bridge and pretty much on top of the water.  Like I said its been a couple years since I have been down there, so the name might have changed.

Best Wishes ROR.  My uncle has cancerous brain tumor.  The doctors give him less than two months to live.  I can understand what your family is going through.  Luckily yours was benign.  Hopefully you can get back to normal soon.

OzJohnnie

I've been away for a week up in Noosa, Queensland with the family and the parents and the aunt and uncle (all visiting from the colds of Minnesoooda).

I'm sorry to see in the last few pages that ROR has gone crook (as they say in Oz).  After pausing a few seconds to remember which is the bad one, benign or malignant, I was glad to see it was the good one (or at least the one a person prefers if a persons gotta have a tumor, I guess).  Best of luck for a quick and tolerable treatment.

And in returning to the footy, as requested, I would like to let you all know that the mighty fighting Hawks of Hawthorn destroyed the lowly Melbourne Demons in the opening round of the AFL season.  I'll, of course, post some video footage when I find some good stuff on YouTube.

ROR, I hope all goes well. You are in my prayers. It has been a tough week when you speak of Mayo. My former chief deputy when I was county attorney through `93 and then my mentor as a fellow judge passed away yesterday at Mayo. Judge Jean Davies will be missed. :'(

With all the talk about tumors and all, I figured I better have my brain checked......they found nothing.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Finally, today's Daily Planet has an SJU football related item: Will the Gophers practice at SJU this year?
