Tragic times here in Menomonie. I didn't know about any fire until I drove by the place yesterday morning. I had to adjust my route as that block was shut down.

Didn't look like much of a fire. I could only see a couple windows knocked out.

I think the kids died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

That place is 2 blocks from where I office, in between me and the campus. About 4 blocks from the athletic complex to the east.

Crazy, tragic stuff. More info:

Twins game tonight and then off to Georgia for a little golf and the Tuesday practice round at Augusta!

Full report when I return next week! ;D

One of my son's high school coaches played a round at Augusta earlier this year.  He's an easy-going guy and got to talking with the caddies who were carrying the bags for their foursome.  After the round was finished he asked them to name the biggest jerk they had to caddy for and he said they responded without hesitation, and almost in unison, "Bill Gates."  They said he was a cheap tipper, too.  Just another reason not to like Microsoft.

Good news from Mayo for ROR, but very bad news from Menomonie.  Sorry to hear; prayers for the students and families.

Spent the weekend in Arizona and had a chance to take a glider ride on Saturday.  Pretty neat.

Getting ready for take-off; view of the tow-plane on the climb out; view of the airport from above

57, thoughts on the Wild-Avs series?

"Back in my day we didn't have no damn Avs and Wilds.  We had the Nordiques and da Northstars. Then Northstars started moving south, Nordiques moved to Colorado where they wouldn't know a damn nordique if it bit them in the arse!"

;D

Just my guess as to what 57 is thinking when he reads Stanbob's post.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I'm an "original six" guy myself.

Who the hell are these 'Nordiques' and 'North Stars'? ;D

This year's finals: Red Wings vs. whoever has the guts to lose to them! ;)

I dont know Ypsi.  The Wings looked pretty horrible other night down here in the windy city.  They sent Hasek (sp) to the showers before the end of the first period.  But then again, you did win 1-0 so maybe that was just a fluke  ;)

First and foremost, belated prayers and good wishers, ROR!

You know what they say, tmerts ... the first time Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is when it goes into the vacuum cleaner biz ... :)

Was lucky enough to play around at Augusta 7-8 years ago. If you weren't greedy, the greens were fairly easy to reach in regulation, especially the par 5's. But the difference between the greens there and the muni goat tracks I usually play were akin to the difference between my game and Mr. Woods'.

snoop dawg

From what tee?  The greens will be at 13 next week.

Penguins will win the Cup.

retagent

Pens won't get out of the East. The only cup will be the one Sid The Kid cries into.

My pick would be the Sharks.

Yeah, the Wings have taken the President's Cup (best regular season record) somthing like 5 of the last 8 years, then pooped out in the 1st or 2nd round several times.  I well remember the 'Dead Things' era, so I tend to get carried away now that they are good. :o  They SHOULD win it all, but we shall see. ;D

Pat Coleman

Yep, you better hope you don't end up with Anaheim too soon, there, Yps.
