Yep, you better hope you don't end up with Anaheim too soon, there, Yps.

Now Pat, be careful about the premature taunting! ;D

Overall season says the Wings are the best team.  Postseason says  ??? :P

Snoop, my older son's favorite team is the Penguins - and has been since before they got Crosby. ;)  [No idea why, except that he has a penguin fetish.  Also, at age 19, he thinks Mario is the greatest hockey player ever - The Great One, Detroit's own Mr. Hockey, or Bobby Orr are all too far in the past to count :(.]

Our prayers are with the families of the three UW-Stout students. One of the students was from Chaska.

I hate to interrupt valuable golf and hockey talk, but here's an article from the SC Times on the QB race at SJU.

Not a lot of size on any of those. I thought Boyle looked a little better than Hansel last year but what do I know or can tell from my regular reserved seat?  ;)
Maybe a Freshman will emerge in the first game again - with a win this time.  :P

57, thoughts on the Wild-Avs series?
Wild - unless:
Foppa can skate all or most of his shifts & all Power Plays.
The Av Power Play gets better like the last Wild game.
Then it's even money.
Neither will probably go very far but I hope I'm wrong.  8)

"Back in my day we didn't have no damn Avs and Wilds.  We had the Nordiques and da Northstars. Then Northstars started moving south, Nordiques moved to Colorado where they wouldn't know a damn nordique if it bit them in the arse!"
;D
Just my guess as to what 57 is thinking when he reads Stanbob's post.

I'm an "original six" guy myself.

Who the hell are these 'Nordiques' and 'North Stars'? ;D

This year's finals: Red Wings vs. whoever has the guts to lose to them! ;)

Original six here too Ypsi, only it is go Rangers, beat the Rockies, I mean Devils.

Gone for a while, and I return to Pond Soccer talk.....I just puked in my mouth  ???
It's a little early to talk about hockey, as the playoffs will run until mid-july....longer season than NASCAR.

Some really sad news from the view from my office:  A construction crew showed up this morning and has begun demolition on three houses across the street, one of which was home to my favorite home improvement person and star of many of my "Life in Little Falls" posts.  At Lions this morning, was shown the final plans for the Walgreens, etc. strip mall that is going in.

JR- Great to see you at the Hockey games a few weeks back!  Nice to see SAMWILL's little bro get a state title! Good to see schools that can recruit players do so well! (sarc) ???

Look forward to seeing some of you Johnnie Faithful at the alumni summit in May!  Now that I am a distinguished member of the Alumni Board, expect to be contacted!

Both good reads so got two more from the library.  :'(
Neither one have football or fishing but 'The Love Hunter' has a lot of duck hunting in MN.  ;)

Yeah, we have 2 Lions groups in town, the old timers meet Thursday nights.  The Monday AM group is the one the Superintendent recommends us to be in!

Monday mornings would not be the schweel-fest that our local Lions are well known for.  ;D

Ritz72, good to see you back on the board. Nice to see you at the state hockey tournament. I have a Johnnie friend whose brother plays for Hill-Murray. He was very happy, to say the least. I will be at the alumni summit in May, also. Should be a great gathering.

Nice weekend for the Johnnie nation with the article in Sports Illustrated about Johnny Blood McNally and Leatherheads and the news coverage of the St. John's Bible being presented to Pope Benedict on Friday at the Vatican.

Just a few thoughts...

Red Wings versus Preds-can both teams lose that series? If only... With any luck Chris Osgood will play like he did in the All-Star game! ;)

Pens-if there was ever a team that deserves to be forever chasing, but not winning the Cup (in recent history), it is this team! It would serve the NHL and their marketing team right!

Sharks-if it comes down to goaltending, Nabby's got it in the bag! Thorton's not bad either. ;)

Ducks-knowing how it would chafe all the Canadian's hides if they repeted makes me hope for two!

Avs-with the Stanley Cup reunion team they have going now, who knows what they can pull off?

Caps- if they win the Cup, will Alex hit the glass in celebration so hard that he breaks it? It would be fun to find out!

Ritz,

For a moment as I read your post I was tempted to respond that the Alumni Board must be really hurting to have offered one of the 200+/- positions on the Board to you........ (although a former Left Tackle that could not block would add diversity to this group ;) ;) )  Then I remembered that we called a truce last fall, so in following our truce I would like to offer up my sincerest CONGRATULATIONS on the selection.....you will do a great job.  Hope all is well in Snowland..........

Well Said Tooth!  They had the foresight to put me on the Events committee!  Look for some new twists to be upcoming next year!  Little Falls was spared the snow, just a lot of rain, which melted our snow and did a good job thawing the ground!  Golf time is around the corner!

JR- I did talked to SamWill's dad at the X, and he was a beaming guy!  My favorite chant of the whole game was when the Edina fans started in with "Daddy's money" to which the Hill Murray fans retorted with "Grandpa's Money!"
