If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

They had the foresight to put me on the Events committee!  Look for some new twists to be upcoming next year!

Better go easy on the "new twists," ritz.  I doubt the Alumni Assn is ready for the Annual Blumpkin Festival. :o

Blumpkin?  Did somebody mention a blumpkin?  Here's the perfect complement.  A blumpkin and beer.

Ritz reappears on the board and it takes less than 3 hours for someone to mention a blumpkin. ;D

Since I go to many Milwaukee Admirals games (Nashville's AHL affiliate) I have seen many of the present day Preds over the past three seasons - Radulov, Fiddler, Upshall, Smithson, Tootoo, Weber, Zanon, Klein, Koistinen, and lately Peverly have all gone through here, I'm hoping that the Preds can pull the upset.

I only hope Ovie doesn't injure his teammates while celebrating. His tackle of Semin in their last game wasn't the first time I cringed worrying that he might put someone out of the lineup.  Is it possible that with two defensemen out, not counting Pothier, will Boudreau put Fedorov on "D" and move Milwaukee native Dave Steckel back into the lineup?

Please tell me Dave is son of Les.

Pens won't get out of the East. The only cup will be the one Sid The Kid cries into wears in his jock

Okay, I don't know if this bit of news is a plant by Oz, but it appears that the Johnnies are the 2008 US collegiate champions in Australian Rules Football ("footy").  According to the article, the Johnnies beat Vanderbilt and the University of North Carolina.

Why hasn't Oz kept us up to date on this? ???

Because I'm a slack bastard.  This is exciting.  There were no Aussie Rules games at St John's when I went there (AFAIK anyway).

The Johnnies had some pretty average kicking as well.  If they had kicked a bit straighter their three blow-outs on the way to the championship would have been absolute slaughters.  As it was, they had three monkey stomp equivalents.  Straighter kicking, particularly in the second match, would have been a triple monkey stomp out equivalent (it's impossible to shut a team completely out, but only kicking 4.2.26 in a game is almost the same.)

GO JOHNNIES!

(And for those that wonder, the mighty fighting Hawks clipped the Kangaroos this weekend.  The Hawks' speedy midfield and big men up front were just too much for the Roos and the Hawks ran away in the final term for a comfortable 16 point win.  Next week we are up against the Adelaide Crows, a difficult match.)

Why hate the Pens?

No hate, just helping retagent with his insults.

Tonight's lesson:
Ya gotta make your free throws!!!

Memphis was up 2 with 0:16 to go with their best player on the line who misses 2 free throws but Memphis gets the rebound and their 2nd best player gets fouled and heads to the line where he makes 1/2 making it a 3pt game and Kansas makes a last second 3 to send it to overtime and wins the game.

Stats of the night:
Kansas FT's: 14/15
Memphis FT's: 12/19
Memphis FT's in the final 1:15 of the game: 1/5  :o

KR.......had Pens season tix as a kid, but Phil Esposito was my hero, Bobby Orr wasn't to bad either.  Someday after some Hamms I will tell you about the time Barkley Plaguer(too lazy to check the spelling), climbed into the stands and attacked me and my friends, unprovoked of course!

Memphis missed the free throws and that was a big part of the loss however, I blame their coach for slowing it down with 4:30 left and up 5 to 7 points.  They were waiting until the last second or two of the shot clock to get a shot off and were coming away empty.  The momentum shifted as a result and that was a big factor IMO.  They had the momentum and were on a roll, why stop?  Take good shots and run the offense but stall??? I think he blew it.  If they kept on scoring, the free throws would not have been as important.

Don't hate the Pens, as such, they've just managed to crush my hopes as a Caps fan too many times.

I read Barclay Plager's book, snoop. I think he tells a different story, and calls you out by name (well maybe that last bit is not quite true).

I never understand when a coach changes what seems to be working. There may come a time to "use the clock", "go into the prevent defense", but all too often, they do it too soon.
