Why hate the Pens?

Why not? ;)

The reason I don't like the Pens has more to do with how the NHL has marketed that team (and one of it's players) and excluded for a large part everyone else.

From a quick look at NHL.com to see, if I didn't have the Center Ice Package, who would I have gotten to watch on national tv (NBC and Versus).

Blue Jackets-1 time
Flames-1 time
Sharks-3 times
Stanley Cup Champions the Ducks-5 times
Runners up the Senators-1 time
Perenial President's trophy winner the Red Wings-9 times
Sabres-7 times
Bruins-7 times
Caps-6 times

and the Pens-12 times!!! WTF? The East Coast bias alone is annoying let alone the team bias.

Gary Bettman and his lackeys are tools!

Snoop, I have a fading memory of Esposito from maybe 79 at the old Met Center. Brawl was cleared off the ice, which was scattered with gloves and Phil skating through flipping off the crowd.

As for your Augusta question, it was mostly back tees and Sunday pins, but one exception was 13 where the tournament tee was ridiculous. Highlight was 16, where I had that putt from up near the top/back of the green where you stand opposite the way the ball ends up.

Probably too late for Tmert, but one Augusta experience you gotta have is that peach cobbler with ice cream, especially up on the 2nd floor deck. Heaven.  On the other hand, if there's a lot of rain, they throw hay all over and the place gets a W. Fargo feedlot breeze.

Why Memphis lost:

"When we was on the line, we was trying to make them," Rose said. "But I guess we didn't do it."

Some thoughts about last nights title game:

Having been a big Kansas fan for many years and seeing better teams stumble badly in the past, it was pretty gratifying how they came back last night.

Also very cool that Bill Self pulled off what Roy Williams couldn't.  Still a lot of bad feelings on the way Williams left.

While I normally whine all game when I have to listen to Billy Packers diarrheatic criticisms I thought he had some good insights last night especially on setting screens for Rose that allowed him to get double teamed.

Not sure though why Kansas went to the two types of zones even though Packer had been predicting it all night.  Thought they lost momentum and some key rebounds while in the zone.

Also thought is was interesting that Self did not try to push the ball up as much as normal and instead was content to walk the ball up and get into a set offense.  Was working when they could get the ball inside but they really had trouble getting open 3's and penetrating.  But that strategy sure changed in the overtime once they had Memphis back on their heals and deflated.

My son called me before the game and predicted Kansas would win on missed Memphis free throws.  I called him after they had made the first four, once Kansas started fouling to let him know his strategy was going to backfire.  He said the games not over yet dad.  Yup.

repete.....wow, that must have been quite a round.  I would lvoe to play there, maybe someday.  You must be a loooong hitter.  Espositio wasn't much of anything but a scorer and a prick, that is why I loved him.  Plager on the other hand, well he got what he deserved ;)
