I hope no one thinks it inappropriate to call your attention to a Johnnie football related article in today's Daily Planet. Nice job by Frank R.

Be sure to click the links to see the profile of some of the new players.

Anybody know the story behind Erik Kottom, out of Eden Prairie, via Wyoming and the U of M? 6'4", 280 lbs?

We may never lose another game.

Nice to see that Sartell pipeline strengthing again, too   ;)

Back less than a week and TDT is looking for little weiners to play with again.

PC,
Ya might wanna get the 2 week ban paperwork ready the way this one is heading!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

It's a beautiful 70 degree day here in Des Moines, anyone up for a little golf?

KR,

That is not a new development.  TDT is known in the greater Naples area for taking in little wieners until he's able to find them a permanent home.

Hey fins, here's some info about Kottom from when the story broke in December:

And the pipeline to Collegeville continues...as reported by The Shooter to Collegeville via Eden Prairie.  Great start to the offseason.

Shooter: Look for 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive tackle Erik Kottom, a freshman, to transfer from the Gophers to Division III St. John's in Collegeville, Minn.

AO: Please go away.

Happy Hannukah everyone!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have him (potentially) aboard, but...   He was at Wyoming in 2006, the U of M in 2007--what's the story?  He hasn't played a down of competitive football since 2005 and he can't seem to make up his mind about where he wants that next play to be.

Regardless, I like the idea of this kid delivering soul-crushing blocks in Collegeville for the next 4 seasons.  He was a Scouts.com 2-Star recruit out of high school in 2006, showing interest in BCS-Conference schools Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Iowa State, along with a couple top I-AA schools (NDSU and UNI), before originally choosing Wyoming.  He was a Tight End out of high school, but has since added 45 pounds and made the move to tackle.

Only Ben Dimond and Dan Gamache return as starters on the OL next year for the Johnnies.  There are a few other guys who have shown the ability to compete for a spot--Blaine Anderson, Greg Sowden, and Drew Percival, in particular--but there should be playing time available for people who show they can play.

About time Shooter got something right...

I see there is some football talk, and I hate to distract from that, but I guess I may.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how the QB, RB and WR positions shake out and it will be a while before my remote self learns anything there.

I am hurt KR.  You didn't send a personal invite.   ;D  Only being 40 minutes from Des Moines I could have gone for a round today.  Hope all is shaping up for graduation for you.  Do you have a specialty picked out yet?  Can you specialize in the Navy?
