I got a quote yesterday for some electrical work that I'd like done on our house.  $3000 for some simple crap that'd take one day to do.

WTF is up with that?  I obviously got into the wrong line of work.  $3000 for one day's work???  Cripes!
Get more quotes Duff.  We had the same thing when we looked to get some painting done.  First bid came in at $2,500 and a later bid was $800.  Obviously the first guy already had enough work lined up, unless we wanted to pay a ridiculous price to move to the head of the list.  And, the second guy needed the work.  Did a fine job at 1/3 the price.

Happy belated bday fins.  I will have a bottle of the finest beer I can find in my fridge after I get off of work today.

Frank-
Thanks! Just curious...what kind of beer did you have?

As much as I would love to say Hamm's, Olde Johnnie Ale, Gluek Ice, or the delicious Eel Pout Ale, all I had on hand was Miller High Life...so I raised a bottle of champagne (of beers) in your honor.

Definitely going for more quotes!  The thing that sucks is that with gas prices, these a-holes are charging $60 to come out to give an estimate.

Willy Wonka

Looks like I missed OAS' response to my "secrets" post...but at least he came clean.

But Wonka has uncovered ANOTHER secret these boards might be interested in. Check out the bottom row. You might recognize a former Gustie great. Heckle away.

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

So now you're scoping for guys on the bachelorette site?  Did the naked dude at the Y jar some feelings loose in you?

Did anyone else like Frank better when he was unemployed and without the internet? No? Just me?

CC to Frank - Not sure if I'm gonna be in town tomorrow night yet, but let me know what your plan is. Karaoke might be in the cards. If you're lucky, I'll answer your call this weekend.

I run into the same thing here. I got two retired school teachers to brush paint my house for less than half what my neighbor paid to have her somewhat smaller house spray painted by an outfit in the yellow pages. My guys did a great job while her guys oversprayed everything an missed a lot of the house. Finding good service people of any kind anywhere is getting tougher and tougher. My guys only wanted payment for the paint up front, my neighbor lady had to make a full payment up front.

That was my question as well. Apparently past employment counts.

Is he gonna jump up and down on the show and swing a towel over his head if he outlasts the token fat hairy guy?
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I hope he breaks out the highlight tapes from the games against SJU ;) ;)  Oh that's right....would not be much of a tape.  Did he even score a TD against SJU?  He could show her how Spanky almost busted him in half.  I think someone like Dirlam would have made a better candidate for the Bachelorette.

I wonder if he will brag to her about how much like Blake Elliott he is/was (in his own eyes)?????

For us short timers on this board, who are we talking about here?

Saw former Hamline AD Dan O'Brien last night at the Gopher scrimmage - just three or four weeks into the job and he's loving his Director of Football Operations position. I guess I would too if my job was "running" the program. He really does it all.

On a related note, the Gophers really blow. Zero passes thrown more than 10 yards down field. Spry caught a screen and ran one in. Hopefully the players coming this summer can help out, or watch out for an '07 repeat.

Reporter: "Sid, which side won?"
Grandpa Sid: "I thought they both sucked. These kids coming in better be good or this is going to be a (bleep) season."
What are you talking about?  the gopher offense went up against the vaunted Minnesota Defense.  ;D  I'm surprised they scored at all.

I do have a feeling the guy i was sitting by at the dome last night (all-american marquies gray) might be able to make an immediate impact for the gophs.

Never in the history of the D3 sports boards has this ever happened! I'd give you karma or smite you, but why mess up a good thing.  ;D

If I was you I would officially retire "AO" & come up with a new moniker like Scourge of the West or something.  ;)  Just kidding on the last name, but I would seriously consider retiring AO and have it ingloriously enshrined in the D3Sports Posters Hall of Shame.   You've achieved a degree of notoriety that surpasses even the other Hall of Smiter - Touchdown Tommy.  ;)

Caught this little tidbit about our buddy A$$/O!@ on the MIAC BB Board ::)

DuffMan

Shoulda-

Ryan Hoag.  Played WR for the Gusties up until 2002.  He was drafted as Mr. Irrelevant (last NFL draft pick) although he was drafted because he's blazing fast, not because he was a great receiver.

He was known for having a big mouth and most recently known as the Gustie assistant coach that really got into the games from the sidelines.
