And you guys know that Josh Rose is spending next semester in Japan, right?
Tmerton-
Looks like you got scooped.

You know, I even reconfirmed that with my source just before posting it. :-[  I'm gonna have to talk to that guy. :-\   I've a good mind to send him to Japan.  Wonder what happened with Rose; he just finished his fourth semester of Japanese and fall term is the only semester that SJU runs its Japan program.  And damn, there goes the great nickname I'd worked out for him when he came back.  Now we have to see if he finally gets moved to the d-line.

At least we know Frank reads the board.  Hi, Frank! ;)

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Only in Minnesota.

Looks like a guy in a donkey suit to me.  Plus this seems to coincide with ROR's disappearance.  Hmmmm ...

Duff's getting hitched three weeks from today--yikes!  ;D

Are you watching Old School every day up until that point?
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day

I think this made it on the wrong board.  8)

The guys who made that video could probably not combine their Wonderlic scores to match Mario Maningham.

Just got off the phone after calling home to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day (a day early for her and right on time for me).  It snowed in Grand Rapids today - didn't stick, but it fell.  They drove down and back to Bemidji today and Cass Lake was still frozen to the shore line.  Must be glorbal warmening buggering up opening fishing.

Anyway, it's good to be in Oz this winter.

Sorry I put the kiss of death on Adam Scott with my prediction as the one to watch at The Players. Not that anyone will believe me now, but I was actually going to put in Sergio as my dark horse, but didn't think I could stand up to the ridicule.

I was watching the golf yesterday morning and this very thought went through my head...

Do they celebrate Mothers Day in Oz-land, or do the men just go out and admire themselves?

Shoulda-

Ryan Hoag.  Played WR for the Gusties up until 2002.  He was drafted as Mr. Irrelevant (last NFL draft pick) although he was drafted because he's blazing fast, not because he was a great receiver.

He was known for having a big mouth and most recently known as the Gustie assistant coach that really got into the games from the sidelines.

That all depends on your definition of "great." Elliott dominated all of D3 in an offense designed to showcase his skills, while Hoag put up unspectacular numbers in an offense that ran the ball around 70% of the time. This conversation might be different if he'd have played under Brownie's crazy new system.

Hoag was drafted almost exclusively for his measureables; specifically, his 4.33 speed and 40 inch vertical that compared favorably to 99% of the other WRs available in the 2003 draft. His skill set was much more NFL/D1 caliber than, say, the Dirty Deuce...but no one will argue about who was the better collegiate player. Hoag does have around 5 more years of NFL (scout team) experience though.

That said, Hoag's got something of an ego. And isn't afraid to tell you how good he is/how many girls he can get/when his next model shoot is. Nice enough guy...but I know plenty of people who would love to see him voted off after the first Bachelorette show. Heck, I even told him I'm among those people...and he was less than pleased :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Rugman

Anybody we know choose this as a recreational activity yesterday?

How much does playing on an NFL scout team pay?

So, let me make sure I understand what this guy is doing with his $100k+ college education.  He sits around watching film of people he is supposed to pretend to be and a couple of times a week pretends to be those people and the rest of the time he waits around for someone who wants to take his picture?

This is where somebody, anybody pipes in and says, no that's TDT you're describing.

janesvilleflash

I think most scout team pay is 60 to 90k.

Aside from his measurables, I wouldn't call him great.  His hands were average at best and he didn't have moves.  He did fine because of his speed, IMHO.

A tradition unrivaled...
