I don't get to watch the Twins all that much. I do like the "Big Klu" tops that they were wearing tonight. I decided to let the game finish before I made any comments in light of my track record lately.

Dunno how many get that reference here. :)

They also wore those tops last time Livan pitched.

Gee Duff, I didnt know it was a trend.  I have been drinking it for many many years.  I guess that makes me a trend setter. ;)

and........how about them Pens?  10-1 in the playoffs is pretty impressive for a team that won't get out of the east. ;)

Oh, they'll get out of the east.  It's just they will then be destroyed by the Wings! ;D

"Evgeni and Sidney, meet MISTER Lidstrom (and his buddies Mr. Chelios and Mr. Kronwall), and (if you survive that), meet MISTER Osgood."

I won't say sweep ( ;)), but Wings in 5 or 6.

The Pens MAY be a dynasty in the making, but their time is not yet.

So I heard the Pawlenty quote about what an enthusiastic fisherman his wife is.  As well as a big football and hockey fan.  Unfortunately, she's just lacking in enthusiasm in one department.

Ha.

I got it right away, but I am old.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

It's all about marketing.  Their ads trick a lot of folks into believing that Corona is the beer to sit on the beach and drink.  I'd rather fill an empty Grainbelt bottle up with saltwater.

A tradition unrivaled...

How strange is this? I was at my uncle's 80th birthday party last Friday night in St. Cloud. As part of the program he had Dottie Rambo, a southern gospel music legend from Tennessee, perform. Very nice performance. As her bus is traveling south in Missouri with her entourage on Sunday, it hits a barricade and she is killed. :'(

flash - you are the man with the graphics. Pat I was going for the obscure, knowing how astute the MIACPP people are.

I've got to believe you Duff. I have never tried Corona since I'm a firm believer that REAL beer doesn't need a lime to go with it.  :P
The older the violin - the sweeter the music!

I didn't know this, but according to Howard Sinker's blog, "A Fan's View" the starting pitcher calls what to wear. "Senor Smoke-free" as he calls him likes the vests.

"Senor Smoke Free is 6-1. Yes, the Twins have provided him with more offensive support than any other starter in the American League, but 6-1 is 6-1 is 6-1. I'm not sure how you do that with a 3.90 ERA while allowing 83 runners in 57 2/3 innings, but sometimes I don't ask questions. (Not often, though.) My only quibble with Livan right now is his fondness for sleeveless uniform tops. (That's the starting pitcher's call.) Not a flattering look, but if Senor Smoke Free finishes the season 18-10, he can pitch nekkid with body paint pin stripes for all I care. (I'll be listening to those games on the radio, though.)"

The Twins are also 3-0 in Livan's non-decisions.  Besides the bombing agains the Rangers, he has gone at least 6 innings in every start and hasn't given up more than 4 ERs in any outing.  I still think he'll get the baby seal treatment before long, but he has been pleasantly mediocre thus far.

Considering how the seemingly deservedly hyped Verlander, Bonderman, et. al., have started the season for the Tigers, "pleasantly mediocre" sounds good to me! :(
