Yeah Dusty, any chance your personal fountain of information Boyle's over and enlightens the rest of us?  Or would that information be more than we could Hansel?  Would it be fair to deCrees that one of the candidates is out of the running due to injury?

Touche' TC!

Lets just say the QB in waiting graduated from a certain QB "Academy".

So.... we're pretty much in the same spot we were with the QB.  That's what Jim G said before spring and it's the same as things now...  Anywho...  It's still nice to shake the cobwebs a bit.

What about some other inside knowledge?  Leadership?

One of the things we here on our couches (admittedly 14k miles away) would grumble about is that Kofoed didn't grab the leadership by the horns (as it appeared over the radio on the interwebs anyway) like we had hoped.  Most likely a wildly unfair criticism, but wildly unfair criticism from distant shores is the prerogative of mostly anonymous interweb posting.

The defense looks pretty solid in the leadership dept with a few names of returners that demonstrated leadership last year.  What about on the offensive side of the ball?  Who's gonna stand up and lead this year's charge to Bethel's destruction for the Johnnies?

I have been out of the loop recently as I have been working on my golf game, but has anyone mentioned this? No, I didn't go back through postings for the past week to see if it was already posted. Hoag trying to get a date on reality TV.

Now 3 4 5 6 times too many.

Spent the weekend in Las Vegas and upon my return I find my karma took as many hits as I did on the BJ table.  With a big bet out the dealer gets 4 straight aces and makes 21, I had 20.  It was that kind of weekend.  I attended the ACMA show, it was really pretty cool.  Not a big country guy but sat 9 rows back from center stage.  WOW those fans can drink some serious amounts of beer.

AS to the SJU situation, I wish them the best of luck.

7, A, A, A, A?  Under Vegas rules a dealer would have to hold on the first A (a soft 18).

***Start dream sequence and music fade***

Ah, Vegas.  My best memories of Vegas are on the way there Friday afternoon and then stumbling drunk in the car at about 4pm on Sunday afternoon looking for the $20 we hid under the seat for emergency gas money to get home.  In between?  I think I can remember a cheap buffet at the Barbary Coast...  Tough to remember through the keno pit whiskey fog (cheapest way to get and stay drunk in Vegas - dollar keno).

*** Further dreaming ***

And here is my heart being ripped out: The destruction of the Hacienda.  A room was $25/night.  No better way for a Navy guy and his buddy to get a cheap room right on the strip.  At $12.50 a dude ($6.25 if we were doing a mid-month trip and needed extra bodies rather than a day-after-payday trip), it was value that couldn't be beat.

Whoever the QB is you can expect a heavy dose of running the ball to give a bit of breathing room to the first year starter.

No one would disagree AK11 was a Johnnie representative however occassionally the signal caller needs to stir things up.  That by all accounts did not happen.

One other interesting tidbit concerns creating one contiguous campus between SJU and CSB.... can anyone say agronomy?

The days of cheap [h/m]otel rooms seems to be long gone.  Does anyone else remember how Motel 6 got its name?

Yea, I think by law back then you could only rent out the same room 6 times in a 24 hour period. :D

P.S. at least that's what a lady name "Precious" told me once.  She worked about a block from a Motel 6.

Where is SJU?

The interesting thing for me is how all the mapping programs (including the ironically named Hertz "Never Lost") locate Collegeville on the side of I-94 opposite from SJU, on the Old Collegeville Road.  It's a nice way to find the footbridge over the freeway but if there is one place in the area that Collegeville would not be, I think that's it.
As I understand it, back in the good ol' days, (pre-automobile) that's where the Collegeville train station was. Folks arriving by train would get off at Collegeville and
walk or horse ride it to St. John's. So the really old computers must still have it that way.
You are correct Fins.  Used to drive down there while I was in school.  Can't remember if there was much for buildings 40 years ago.  We should check with '57.  He probably took the train to school back then.
Sorry but I can't help you. I lived about 180 miles from SJU and routinely hitchhiked back and forth. Kept my green beanie for all 4 years since the folks back then took pity on the lowly Frosh.  ;D
