Well folks, today will be the last day I post as a single man.  Thanks for all the marriage advice.  I will follow very little of it ;D

I will check in a few times today, but then it's off for a brief stop in St. Cloud prior to a week in Mexico.  Behave when I'm gone.  I'll have a drink on the beach for each of you :o

+karma one last time for you, the single man, .........................and make mine a double!   ;D

Good luck Duff!

I haven't given you any marriage advice, but I will give you one bit of wedding day advice.

Don't let your groomsmen get so drunk Friday night that they are green in the gills on Saturday!

Nothing worse than the bride glaring at the best man as he leans over like the Tower of Pisa during the ceremony!  :D

Marriage is easy. It's raising kids that's hard.

At least that's what I tell myself. :)

Good luck!

My wedding reception advice is to make sure someone saves you the appetizers. The meet and greet tends to be all-consuming and it takes away from ... well, the consumin. Task a member of the wedding party with this responsibility.

BDB,

They're all adults.  I'm not responsible for them  ;)  I figure as long as I show up not too hungover, I will be golden. :)

I hear you Duff. But remember, this isn't your day or their day, it's her day.

Get a bunch of old friends together going late into the night after the grooms dinner could have bad results on the wedding day.

Didn't happen to me, but I've seen it happen twice. No need to end up on America's Funniest Home Videos.  ;)

OK, I'm done. I'll be thinking about you guys. Have a great honeymoon.  8)

I know exactly what you're saying, BDB.  My saving grace is that the three that will be the biggest threats are brothers-of-the-bride, so I will not be the one in trouble ;D

Their mother will be the one shooting the dagger glares in their direction. :D

You have much to learn young Grasshopper.  You are getting married, you will be the one in trouble.  "Why did you let my brothers drink so much?"

Remember to drink nothing that may contain local water in Mexico.  Drink beer, wine and shots only, nothing with ice unless you know it was made from bottled water.

+K for the last day of your life,  I mean single life.

Mazel tov and +k, Duff.  And always heed BDB; if he says it, he's seen it. ;)

Also, someone needs to be tasked to make sure you have a ride from the church to the reception.  With all the pictures at the church after the ceremony, by the time we were finished we found everyone had left and we had to hitch a ride with the photograher.  And Pat's right about food at the reception - by the time we got to the recepetion, the best stuff had been eaten already! :'(

Thanks for all the marriage advice.  I will follow very little of it

Three stages of sex during marriage:

1. Everywhere Sex: When you first get married you have sex in every room in the house, quickies in the car, sex on the beach, and in every hotel hot tub.

2. Bedroom Sex: After you've been married for awhile and have kids, you confine your sexual activity to the bedroom with the door locked.

3. Hallway Sex: After being married awhile longer, you'll pass each other in the hallway, look at each other, and say "F you!"

Also, remember the three rings of marriage: The engagement ring, the wedding ring, and the suffering.

Ha!  +k OxyBob.  Just out of curiosity who has been married to the same person the longest here?  I'm at 35 years this July.

2 wonderful, happy years for me, then 29 more.

I'm eminently qualified to give marriage advice here since I have been married twice: my first and last time!

Have a great time this weekend Duff, and bien viaje a Mexico!

I think the current Fins "catch" is worthy of re-consideration.... particularly if she's still in charge of writing checks.....

DM;  You should be so lucky as to have 3 brothers-in-law that you can actually get into trouble with... in my estimation it's your primary back-up reason for getting married.

A detailed agenda for your wedding day would be welcomed.... which church, where's the grooms dinner, where's the reception....

Enjoy the day and Good Luck!
