Hope everyone's 4th went well.  Anyone catch any decent fish?

I got my personal best Saturday night, a 49 inch muskie.  Of course, it was a last minute trip (my old man had the boat, the net, and the vast majority of the tackle up at Lake of the Woods for the weekend), so my cousin and I were woefully underprepared.  In fact, we only trolled for muskies for about an hour (with no success) before setting up for muskies for the rest of the night at about 7:00.  Luckily, our walleye spot doubles as a great muskie spot--after an hour and a half of no walleyes, it took all of one cast before the muskie hit right next to the boat.  To top it off, the fish was hooked plenty light and we only had a walleye net in the boat.  My cousin did a masterful job of hand-landing the biggest fish he had ever seen.

I didn't have my gloves and didn't really feel like dying (I'm aggressively allergic to fish, naturally), but we took a half dozen pictures of my cousin holding and releasing the fish.  If they turn out ok, I'll try to get a few up when they get developed.

I have a few things to add to the Twins discussion as well, once time allows.

I'm gone for 4 days and I drop 25 karma points without posting.  That has to be a record.

25 points in 4 days would mean a minimum of 7 folks are out to ding you!  I don't know if we can keep up with that, but here's one to help.

Klop....after all the bad luck, I felt like the guy they fished from the river.  At least Merc is replacing my new Merc outdrive with a new Merc outdrive.  Here is a stat that you won't see much:

Hours of operation on the motor:    5

Hours spent being towed:          7

Some other important numbers:

Beers drank while being towed:   countless

Times I told my wife to quit complaining:  infinite

Look on the dealers face after bringing the boat in the day after they fixed it:  priceless

But the worst part of the entire story is that while on my brother in laws boat the balance of the weekend, the only music he would play was the old country-western type music (as opposed to country).......can you say Merle?

And thanks for the +k... I  will return the favors

Veek

Fins - are you in charge of the golf outing on Tuesday?  Inquiring minds want to know the details.  Thanks for your assistance.

I caught the biggest bass I've seen come out of the in-laws' lake.  4 1/2 pounds.  Not huge, but it was a welcome change from the 2 pound and under crowd that is so plentiful.  Plus, I caught it on a Pop-R, and that's always fun.

A tradition unrivaled...

Snoop sorry to hear about the problems in Havasu.  Sounds like you made the best of it though.  I am sure the scenery was not to shabby on those tow ins!  Looks like you made a little karma rally.

Was up at this one last week and caught a lot of walleyes and northerns, but nothing very big.  Would be afraid to light a match at snoop's lake.  Edit for better precision.  Suspect out in the middle of snoops lake it's OK, but the coves where all the boats moor look pretty dangerous.

Veek-  Do you mean tomorrow Tuesday, or next week Tuesday? I forgot, but either way, I'm in charge. I'm doing pretty good so far, aren't I?

Snoop- Don't go dissing Merle on here, or I'm going to start dinging you, too. New last week on the ipod is the Merle, Willie and Ray Price album "Last of the Breed". Made for some very enjoyable lake listening, I highly recommend it.

Fins - July 8th is tomorrow and that was the chosen day.  I recall your post where you stated that once a date was chosen everything else would fall into place.  Now it's time for the Mayor to step it up and get the job done.  I have complete confidence that you will come through with flying colors.  Thank you.

As your Mayor, I do hereby declare tomorrow, July 8, 2008, to be MIACPP Golf In The Kingdom Day.

As of now, the starting time will be mid afternoonish. The location will be TBA but within 50 miles of Clemens Stadium. No more fooling around fellas, who's in, and who's going to sit idly by holding his berries? So far, Me and the Veekster. TDT always talks a big game, but will he show?

Yours in golf and football,
Mayor Fins
