Show your prowess - Beer Slogans - the game.

Warning - the game is fundamentally flawed - as you will notice immediately.

And which finding service do you use?  :D

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet...for those that are interested.  Todd was probably one of the top 5 receivers ever to play for the Johnnies.  He was seriously injured in a car accident last month.  Even if you can't make the event I'm sure they would gladly accept a donation.

Oh Goody!  It's been discussed (threatened?) for a few months now, but the word is officially in!  Jesse "The Body" has declared he's running in this year's Senate race.  I gotta run down to the consulate and get my absentee ballot straight away.  This is an election cycle that can't be missed.

"That's the reason I run," [The Body] says. "I run because it angers me...All you Minnesotans take a good hard look at all three of us. And you decide: if you were in a dark alley which one of the three of us would you want with you?"

EDIT:  Ha!  The update at the bottom of the post is classic Body...

UPDATE: Ultimately those Ventura observers -- who argued that the former governor's occasionally confusing syntax should be taken into account when reporting his seemingly definitive declaration "that's the reason I run" -- are correct.

Ventura told The Associated Press he had been speaking hypothetically to NPR, that in responding to Welna's question about why he would run, "I gave him the reasons why I would run. But I said ultimately, it will come down to whether I want to change my lifestyle and go to that lifestyle or not." Reports the AP: "Ventura says bluntly that no one knows whether he will run -- not even his wife. He says the decision won't be made until next Tuesday, the filing deadline."

When I'm on a role (in my own mind, at least...):

PARIS (AFP) - How about this for the next instalment of the Indy franchise: "Indiana Jones and the Dodgy Antiques Dealer"?

Less than three months after the Quai Branly Museum in Paris discovered that a crystal skull once proclaimed as a mystical Aztec masterpiece was a fake, it is now the turn of the British Museum and the Smithsonian Institution to find they were victims of skull-duggery...

(And belated congratulations to flash for posting the 40,000th post on the MIAC pp

(And, yes, I realize this is the second time to 40k, but whatever, it's still a milestone.)

I just use what comes in over the transom.  Now take this for example ... pretty effective advertising, eh?

kirasdad - If you liked the movie, read the book, which is by Dan Jenkins. Much funnier than the film. Actress's name is Corinne Bohrer.

Thanks.  I just saw her on a Bounty commercial today.

Looks like the mayor was in British Open type rough....could he have been that astray with his tee shot?
Actually, tee shot was not too bad on that hole. Was pin high, just left of the green. Trouble was, it was an elevated green with a 5 foot high railroad tie retaining wall all along the left side. Down below, tall grass... and my ball. Chipped it out of there, cleared the grass, cleared the wall, hopped onto the green, then right off the other side. Fun game.

Morneau goes 5 for 5 today with game winning solo in the 11th. Span 4 for 4 and little Nicky 3 for 4. So nice to be in Detroit and out of Boston.

fins....I was just kidding.  However, in examining the picture a bit closer, it appears that you are picking the club up too abruptly, rather than back and up ;)  On second thought, the bushes behind you might have had something to do with our takeaway. ;)

Looks like you guys had a blast.  I might have missed it but, who won the money?  It appears that your game resembles my up and down karma route.  In three days it has gone up and down almost 25 points.  That has to resemble your chip rolling off the other side of the green! :D

Well it appears that 100% of the voters are on board with the Gusties taking the MIAC this year.

Glad KR had a chance to reflect on my balls...

Not much to reflect upon.

Cousin,
The game's a helluva lot easier in the short grass! Ya look like you're cutting down hay in Grandad's old back 40!

Shut up Frank, that was a practice swing.
I always remember the words of my golf instructor: "Swing really hard in case you hit it."
Here's one:

Real Men wear Pink on the golf course!

...and apparently so does TDT.

My soft 3 and 5 woods...

I can write you a prescription that will help with that. Just PM me and we'll keep it on the hush hush.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Just a heads up guys, as you can see from the link at the top, registration for the D3football.com 2008 Kickoff is up and running. It's been a pretty solid read the past 2 or 3 years, however long I've been getting it.

Even if you have no desire to read it, I figure $10 is a cheap price to pay to help cover some of the costs that allow us to BS about Hamm's, Kournikova's, golf, monkey stomps and various other topics.

If you have a .edu I think it's like 6 bucks. I still have my .edu address, but I figured I can throw an extra gallon of gas into the pot to keep this place up and running. Otherwise, how would we ever find out what Duff caught last weekend, what TDT's newest pink shirt looks like, what Flash is doing (I guess we could assume drinking and settle for 90% accuracy), etc.

OK, enough of the telethon. Now back to the regularly scheduled banter.

Amen, KR!  I, too, still have an .edu address (they apparently haven't yet noticed that I haven't taught for over two years ;D), but use another address so as not to stiff d3sports.  Strangely, although it is the same address that I use here, and that I used for Kickoff last year, this year it will not accept it as valid (Pat is as mystified as I am).  But with over a month until publication, I will persevere and Kickoff shall again be mine to read and enjoy.  And to marvel at their overall accuracy while making snarky posts about the teams they got wrong! :D  [CCIW co-champ IWU at #122 - oh, really?? :o]
