tmerton, my bro-in law stayed in the same hotel for a wedding and his remarks are very similar to yours.  If I recall the story he told he almost punched the parking lot attendant for being such a jerk.  Point Loma is a very pretty spot though.

Wow.  Talk about close calls.

That crane in Houston that collapsed was just up in Cohasset (just outside of Grand Rapids) doing some heavy lifting at the Clay Boswell powerplant where my dad works.  They completed their work last month and it was shipped to Houston for the next job.  Wow.

As many of you may know, the Pope is currently in Australia for World Youth Day.  Yesterday he toured the beautiful Sydney Harbor:

Little reported, however, was this moment, which a friend of mine in Sydney managed to capture:

Even the Pope backs the Johnnies.
OZ,
Is it true that you are teaching the American kids over there how to do:

With a good strong coffee, a TTS is surprisingly good.

Back from a few days out of pocket. Had a death in the family - My freaking Dell got zapped by lightning Thursday night. You know what I'm talking about flash. I am now trying to learn the nuances of Microsoft Vista. I'm no Luddite, but I do have some challenges in the technical field.

Boof really looked finished tonight. Good game.

You may have the option on your PC to roll back to XP, I would check the manual or poke around the system and see if you can do that if you desire it.

We had the same parking lot attendant.  The told us when we checked in that all we had to do was give the parking lot attendant our name and room number to get out - seems that wasn't enough for the attendant.

Did you buy a new PC with Vista or a new motherboard or HD for your existing Dell?

Okay SJU alums, Fr. Don Talafous is coming for dinner tonight (seems he likes to spend his summers in San Francisco - misses the cold climate of MN I guess), so if you want anything mentioned in his newsletter, let me know pronto. ;)

First Oz now him. You get all the big shots at your house. Is TDT next?

You can apologize for me (yet again) for swearing like a sailor at the top of my lungs during the '91 World Series.  In my defense, I had been discharged four months earlier.  He had the misfortune of being the resident on my floor that year.

Tell Fr Don that the young couple he married 3 years ago this week is doing well and about 5 hours down the road!

Best homily ever!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

What kind of car do you drive KR? And how do you avoid the CHP driving between SF and San Diego in 5 hours? :D

tmerton, if you are in the bay area, how about going down to Menlo for some d3 football?

Thanks for the interest. I got a new HP on which Vista is preloaded. It was my understanding that all new PCs have it now. I had Me on my Dell. I am getting acclimated, so it really isn't too life changing. We'll see if there are any insurmountable problems. I just downloaded the drivers for my printer, but haven't installed them yet. If that goes without a hitch, I should be OK.

Twins looked STRONG tonight. Livan pitched a ho hum game, Gomez looks to be coming out of his slump, Young is HOT. Redmond came in late and had a 14 pitch at bat and got a hit and a standing "O"
