No lie, back in my playing days, the T-Wolves were doing their usual pre-season workouts at SJU.  It was after practice, and I was standing at the urinal taking a piss.  None other than Garnett walks up to pee next to me.  Talk about feeling inadequete.

WTF.....I just noticed that the Johnnies first game of the season is at 11 a.m.  I've got a backyard barbecue  event the night before and might still be bagged at that time!
Anybody know the reason for this?

BTW, I'm pretty sure the St Paul Saints are never going to let me close to Midway Stadium again.  Had free tickets for the all-star game and the Friday night game last week.  Left the all-star game with the North trailing 10-0.  Left Friday's game with the Saints trailing 11-0.

Celebrity sighting......Last night the wife and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary by having dinner in a place in Malibu.  Kevin Garnett sat at the table behind us.  He looks even bigger in real life.  My wife, a die hard Laker fan wanted to boo him but she used self restraint and merely smiled at him.  He actually treated the server and all others very nicely.  He should have picked up my tab after all the money I lost betting on the Laker - Boston series.

Hey BDB. I watched Game 7 of the Capitals/Flyers series last night(again), and they still got the call on the Kapinen "goal" wrong. You'd think that when the refs saw the replay, they would have blown the whistle when Morrisonn was taken into Huet and kept him from being able to do his job - BUT NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You shouldn't embarrass a guy like that; he's got an image to maintain.  Maybe the feelings of inadequacy that KG picked up that day are the real reasons behind him looking for a trade to a world champion team.

TC, what is your prediction on the Twins/Sox series?

My prediction is that not much of anything will get resolved this week--I like the chances of a split far more than any kind of sweep.  While the White Sox have three lefty starters lined up, it will be nice to not have to deal with Joe Crede this series after what he did to the Twins in the Chicago sweep in June (8-for-15 with 4 HRs).  Still, with the Twins sending 4 gopher-prone starters and a recently flammable bullpen to the hill to face Konerko, Dye, Swisher, and Quentin I think this will be a relatively high scoring series.  

Hopefully the Twins take 3 of 4, but it just feels like the wheels are about to come off.  Sure, anything can happen, but I'd feel a lot better about their chances if Liriano was pitching Wednesday instead of the Livan-ching Pad.  

Anyone want to offer odds on the Tigers winning the division?
