Condolences to the families of those lost in the plane crash in Owatonna today 

I echo that.  That is my fathers birth town.  I don't know of any relatives still there.  My prayers go out to them. 

The strib says  the passengers were customers of the Viracon glass manufacturing company in Owatonna. A Viracon spokeswoman said seven people were flying into Owatonna for a meeting today at the glass company, along with two pilots. Didn't say where the pilots are from.

After her oncologist prescribed a cancer drug that would cost $4,000 a month, the newspaper reported, "Wagner was notified that the Oregon Health Plan wouldn't cover the treatment, but that it would cover palliative, or comfort, care, including, if she chose, doctor-assisted suicide."

In Wagner's case, administrators of the Oregon Health Plan had to make a difficult call. But that's what they do every day in performing the tough, thankless job of rationing government-paid health care to the needy.

Twins looked good tonight. Time for some roster moves. I would guess that livan has pitched his last game and they should also tube Monroe. Obvious pitcher to call up will be Liriano. For a right-handed bat it would not surprise me to see them call up someone like Randy Ruiz.

Yup, I think it's a pretty good bet that Francisco will be returning to the Bigs, and it may even be safe to bet on a blistering performance:

Liriano is 9-0 with a 2.51 ERA in his past 10 starts, and in five starts between June 30 and July 22, he allowed only one earned run in 35 innings for a 0.26 ERA.

Liriano's next scheduled start is Friday. Smith was asked if Liriano would make that start for Rochester, and the GM deflected the question. Indications are that a Liriano callup could be imminent.
