Ready for another Johnnie year and ready for another series of alumni shake downs at away games.  A pre-FB game alumni event is the mortgage servicing industry in microcosm.

For what it's worth...

St. Olaf will be joining the world of webcasts this year, and in impressive fashion. They've purchased a 5k tri-caster — a contraption that includes three cameras that they plan to flip through during live game coverage for different angles. The video will be hooked up to the Ole radio guys, for better or for worse.

Also, they apparently have plans to add a nifty replay feature by next season, though it's expensive and will likely require another tech guy to make it run smoothly.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Impressive.  And we play @ STO this year.  Nice.

In other news, the Johnnies are ranked 6th in the d3football.com pre-season poll.  Bethel has bribed or blackmailed their way into a 5th spot ranking.  STO and CC each got some votes.  As did... Augsburg.  The mountain has moved.

(STU, as they suck, were nowhere to be found).

It would be interesting to know which voter or voters had Augsburg on their ballot.  Almost as interesting as knowing who gave Wesley their lone first place vote.

Anyone remember another notable time that Bethel was ranked #5?

Another interesting factoid in that article you link, TC, is that BU had beat the Johnnies in each of the previous two seasons.   Could we be looking at a monkey stompout of the Royals this year?  As Kevin Malone would say in The Office, "Niiiice."

One difference from '01 - this year the game is at Bethel, again.

I hate to differ with my buddy Oz, and no doubt Tommies do suck, but I expect them to be a suprise team this year.  They gave the Johnnies a good game last year and, aside from Tommies sucking, with better coaching (I don't care if the new guy is from Mac, my guess is he's a definite upgrade from Rooney) I don't see any reason that UST shouldn't put a competitive team out there this year and years to come.  (Hell, they also apparently have free tuition for athletes now.)  I know the Mayor, the President and many others will disagree, but that's my position and I'm sticking to it.
