I need to consult the greater wisdom of the MIAC board.

AOL has a feature on Elvis this weekend (like everyone else...)
Here is the link.

In slide #9 of 11, there are four artists in the Million Dollar Quartet.

Do I see Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash in the Michael Ochs picture?

Thanks
QuoteThe 'Million Dollar Quartet,' December 1956: It was a Carl Perkins recording session at Sun Records. Elvis stopped by to see what's happening -- this was a year after he left Sun for RCA. Jerry Lee Lewis was always hanging around the studio -- he hadn't quite made it yet. So the three of them started goofing around, and [Sun Studio owner] Sam Phillips was smart enough to leave the tape running. After awhile, Sam realized the was an amazing occurrence, so he calls Johnny Cash and says, "Get over here quick!" So Cash comes over, and Sam calls the Memphis Press-Scimitar [newspaper] to send a reporter over right away, and they sent one with a photographer, fortunately.
For the locals...if you liked these guys, you might want to check out Jason D Williams at the state fair's LEINIE LODGE BANDSHELL TONIGHT! on 8/23 or 8/24. Saw him twice last year.  Lot's of fun.

Just watched womens weight lifting, super heavy weight division on the Olympics. If you get a chance to catch some of this on replay, don't.

Here's USA's heavyweight lifter competing in the snatch.

A korean woman won it. Wonder what she's going to do with it?

It is a really good thing they are showing womens beach volley ball right now.  After seeing that pic anything else would make my head explode.

I haven't been able to read past the opening sentence of the following article (click to embiggen):

A Mount Gambier woman has warned the community against cleaning lawnmowers in bedrooms while smoking.

EDIT: OK, I stopped chuckling long enough to get further in.  This writer has a sense of humor.  I'll drop this snippet as well:

Ms Goldworthy said although she had been convicted of arson before, this time it was an accident.  "I swear, this time I did not do it," she said.

Mr. Ypsi

Smoking or not, I confess this is the first time I ever even imagined someone cleaning a lawnmower in their bedroom! :o

[I'm afraid to even imagine what she does in her garage! ::)]

Jeff Foxworthy would probably like to meet Mrs Goldworthy!   :D

So my wife and I were just having a discussion about selling on eBay.  I said there isn't a hope in hell that someone would buy our used toilet training potty.  But, I kid you not, there are currently 5 people watching this item.  WTF do I know?

Yes, there is a God, and He is obviously a Johnnie fan. They just announced that the East Texas Bethel game has been changed to start at 1:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 a.m.

Veek- do you still want to meet at 6?

I hope it's over before I have to go to a wedding >:(

It should be over by about 1:15.

Thank goodness. I was afraid that bennie wouldn't be up until halftime. I was worried about being able to hold her regular reserved seat.  ;)

Believe me, I am VERY happy about this schedule change. It just seems wrong to listen to a Johnnie game at 9am...especially when it is one that doesn't involve a National Championship!! :D
