We have been rating our all-time Worst Olympic "Sports"..In order (worst to least worst?)

1.  Women's 20K Race Walk (also insert Men's 50K racewalk here) -go fast...just not too fast...or you get disqualified
2.  Trampoline - surrounding the surface with glass shards, might make it a bit more interesting at least
3.  Rythmic Gymnastics - leaping?  Ribbons?   enough said...
4.  Synchonized Diving - if your not good enough to do it by yourself...stay home...
5.  Synchronized Swimming  - see above...

Honorable mention: Handball - We thought handball was like raquetball, not a combination of Soccer, lacrosse, water polo and basketball

In light of the latest enforcement initiative of our Border and Customs folks, I suspect there may be some who will take fewer trips outside the US.  [Since I was recently accused - unjustly - of "sweatin' the President" I want to take pains to point out that I have made no mention here of TDT.  None at all.]
What if I only have it for "personal use"? :-X

Bonus tonight.  The Twinks are on the FoxSport replay.  I get back from Sydney, the wife goes to bed because she's sick and I get to sit with a couple coldies and watch Baker's gem.  All is right with the world.

You have cable?

Yeah.  It was just rolled out along with flushing toilets.  Rumor has it that the gov't soon intends on running pipes from the village well to every home.

The Stiftungsfest was rocking last night with Hairball playing in the music tent. Outstanding burgers as always. More great music tonight. Hope to see you there. Stop by the Chaska baseball park on your way out to Norwood Young America to watch some of the state amateur "town team" baseball tournament. First game is 11:00 a.m. this morning with other games at 1:30, 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. We had Terri Traen of KQRS throw out the first pitch last night. Tonight Terrence Fogarty will be doing it at the 5:00 p.m. game.

Being the last week before college football kicks off, it's time for the Bethel posters to start showing up again, right? :D  Stupid server at work blocks me from posting, though, oh well.

Greetings from the Emerald Coast of Florida, gents, as we try to dodge all the rain from TS Fay!  After a year of killing gophers and eating every weird vegetable you can think of in South Korea, it is nice to be back in CONUS.  I'm also pleased to report that I will be in attendance for the BU-SJU game this year, as well as the pre-game festivities.  Rumor has it the newly crowned Mrs. Spackler will also be in attendance for her first dose of Minnesota culture (youbetcha) and real college football (none of this FSU junk).

If you're ever down in the Destin area for vacation, drop your old buddy Carl a line.  Looking forward to seeing everybody this October, and a great season with safe travels to all!  Gungala gungala, and on your death bed you will receive total consciousness...

What really chaps my a$$ is the fact that Badmitton, Rhythmic gymnastics, Trampoline, fencing, synchronized swimming, equestrian, etc get to be in the next olympics and baseball and softball don't.

What was the decision making process?

"yeah, baseball is primarily only played in North and South America and asia, so let's skip that for the next olympics. Where does that leave us?"
"With just enough room for men in tights twirling around with a bowling ball covered in glitter!"
"Perfect!!! This is just how the real greeks would have wanted it."

Seriously, are the doods from queer eye for the gay guy making the decisions for the IOC? ???

yes, it's 1230 in the morning in Cali, I'm on call all night, I've been here since 0500 and I'll be here until probably 1000 tomorrow and I was already at 65 hours for the week before I got here today :-\  I miss med school!!!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Two weeks to go.  Almost time to get serious...  But before we get there...

Here's an ad that just started playing in Oz for some work wear.  It's a great view into Australia's sense of humor.

And while we're on it, this is an absolute classic that started a series for a broadband offering.

"The Great Wall of China"

And here is the latest installment in that series.  It features a parent-teacher review where the teacher is discussing Jan 26, Australia's independence day.

"Australia Day"
