Make it happen, Bucky.  Just like the Johnnies themselves, I look to improve on last year's empty, desolate 2nd place finish.

Speaking of wagers--I'm thirsty for some PBR, cobbernation.  You going to be at the Johnnie/Cobber game this year or what?

Hey guys, I spoke with Pat and he was ok with me mentioning this here (there will be ads on the main page soon). I started a pick 'em website for the top 25 D3 teams. If it is something you might enjoy take a look. www.d3fantasyfootball.com

It is a work in progress so let me know what you might like to see change for future seasons.

The motion having been made and seconded, and there being no further discussion, I hereby declare the nominations closed, and Buckman is annointed the Prince of Pickems, by acclimation.

And speaking of wagers, TDT and his plums might as well pay off the ridiculous Delmon Young wager. At .282 now, .300 is a pipe dream.

A taste of what's in store ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VSDWx2PYIM (This was around a year or so ago, but still entertaining.)

Through 133 team games, Delmon has 133 hits in 472 at bats for a .282 BA.  At that rate, he can be expected to have about 103 more at bats this season.  In order to reach .300 in that amount of at bats, Delmon will have to hit .388 (40 for 103) over the last month+ of the season.  As misguided as TDT was in making this bet, I sure hope he's right.

For what it's worth, Delmon's best month in the majors was July 2007, when he hit .343 over 105 at bats.  Not impossible, but I'd guess it's very improbable.

Fins, I for one am ready to concede the DY fiasco.  I should have knownm better that to side with TDT, but it seemed so right at the time.  Waiting to get my physical therapy finished before I head back to Minnesota and will bring said Hamms to a future pregame.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

The last time that sentence was uttered, I think it involved a SWAT team and investigators from the Special Victims Unit.

TC,
I will be there.  I do remember I owe you a case of PBR.  I will bring it along with many ears of corn for the festivities!

HEY OZ. I saw The Little River Band at the Walworth (WI) County Fair tonight. Were they ever as big in Aussiie-land as they were here? Did they consider them one of their own? I went to see them with a very nice young lady (or at least she was at the time - as was I -  young, not a lady) at the Checkerdome in St Louis back in 1980 I believe. I'm not sure there are any of the same members who are still playing with them than the band I saw.

Good 'ol LRB.  I love those guys.

They are a good Melbourne band that made it big.  Humorously, they got the name during a trip from Melbourne down to Geelong.  There is a three house town called "Little River" about halfway along the freeway.  As they were driving to their performance in some forgotten pub, it occurred to them that that would be a catchy name, and the rest is history.

The fight among original band members over the name pops up on the news here every so often.  I think there is one original member left that has ownership rights to LRB.  Other originals perform in a band called "A Group of Guys Formerly Known as LRB" or something like that singing all the LRB hits because apparently they still have access to those.

EDIT: I asked my wife if LRB were big in Oz when she was growing up.  She said yes.  She also wanted to highlight that Oz has flushing toilets (I told her I already let you guys know that) and the people here have known how to use knifes and forks when eating for at least 30 years.  She concluded by asking if my "little Johnnie friends" have any other questions.

I'm lucky to be me, aren't I?

Do the toilets really flusch the opposite way?
