It's tough to open up your passing attack when the QB has no time to throw the ball!
Yea, I guess so.  If your offensive line doesn't block effectively, I guess there's nothing you can do.

That is the #1 problem I am having with my Middle School team.  We are a new school with no $ to buy a sled so we are having a hard time teaching the O line to fire off the ball and drive block.
John got rid of all that stuff in 1954. Contact the SJU athletic department and see if they have it stored somewhere.  :D

LOL!!!

Jimmy G. was on the Granite City Cafe this afternoon and it sounds like Boyle will get the start with Hansel getting a fair number of snaps as well.  No mention of Crees.

What did Crees do - sh!t in Jimmy's shoe?

He kept on insisting on throwing with the wrong hand.

Oh, jeepers, now we have to wait for Flash to let us know when he started.  And that, I suspect, will explain a few things, too. ;)

Neither of my parents drank. I was 15 when I had my first sip. I've been trying to make up for the late start the rest of my life.

Oh, yeah, blame it on your parents!  ::) :D

NOOOOOOOooooooooo.......

Not Bonser.  Please.

EDIT: Well, Bonser pulls an inning out of his Boof.  What do you think the odds are that Gardenhire tries a second pitch in the endzone and keeps Bonser in for the eight?

Who's this Mijaris guy?  Looks like another one in Nathan's lap.  Please be the good Joe and not the rarely bad Joe.  Fins don't be drinking that case of beer yet.  Delmon's on fire.

No idea.  TC?  We get lucky on some middle relief promotion from the minors?

Hey, it was good Joe showed up...thanks to an unbelieveable catch by Gomez.

Wow.  Twinks had to work for that one, no?  Half a game out.  Nice.

Obviously TDT told Delmon about the bet and cut him in for a half a case of Hamm's. I guess I just didn't know how much Delmon liked Hamm's.

One scenario that has not been mentioned is that Crees shoulder could have been re-injured, thus no need to mention him getting snaps.

Couple quick comments:

Sprained68- coaches during the season probably should not be commenting on this board.  I learned that the hard way a number of years ago  ;) ;)

The lack of an offensive playmaker at SJU that was discussed a couple of days ago is less a concern than the apparent lack of offensive leadership.  Pure talent alone is nice, but what set Blake Elliott (and the ones before him) apart was his leadership in both heart and head.  Blake would often will or force the offense to pull together and get it's collective head out of it's arse.  Someone needs to step up and take on that position.....QB/RB/WR/OL it doesn't matter.

As for the OLine performance, or lack thereof, effort and technique are critical for SJU success.  This group must understand that moving forward the QB is not to be touched under any circumstance.  If they can play with that goal in their heads, the QB(s) will have more than enough time to find open receivers and points and wins will follow.  The OLine(s) from 00-04 heard me more often than they cared to discuss this concept.  During that time I kept an article in my pocket about the OLine at the U of Miami that went almost 10 games (all wins during a National Championship run for two years) on two different occassions without giving up a sack on Ken Dorsey their QB.  During that same time he was seldom touched.  If a line can pass block effectively; their run blocking is greatly impacted.  See the 2003 National Championship game for an example.  The 03 line was assembled out of a group that had not started ONE game in their collective careers.  The group this year needs to realize they will determine the success of the team offensively.

I am looking forward to seeing the game in person this week.

Mijares could be the answer, sure hope Guerrer "develops"  tendonitis so he can be replaced on the post season roster.   ;)

Haha the nerves of Mayor delights TDT this fine Fall evening.  My sources tell me that Fins Jr. was texting his old man from the ballgame with updates of DY's current average.  This was followed by a shotgunned Hamm's in the Hot Tub to ease the tension.

What a ballgame.  Hopefully the Mayor has learned his lesson...
